  • Perhaps you should send your work to Prospect or the Economist. They could really do with such thoughtful analysis.

  • The guy leading the incident room for the past couple of days events is Chief Constable Sweeney. Awesome.

    No shit, Sherlock:

The investigation into the Tottenham riot is going to be led by the Sweeney.

    :)

  • ^^ That's a cock

    just saying

  • Hackney now. Live on BBC News.

  • Looks like they're attacking cops in Hackney Central.

  • I love Hackney and I don't want it to be smashed up.

  • I wonder how many of them are on stolen bikes.

  • I love london. please look after it.

  • Mare St c. 15 mins ago :(

  • 2+ police cars smashed in hackney already. fuck my interview. I'm staying in.

  • looks like there's more media in Hackney than there are youths

I agree with all of this except for the last point. I think the Mayor should certainly be present, to provide civic leadership, or to demonstrate once and for all that when he pretends to do so in less trying circumstances, it is only a facade. You never know, he might even manage to rise to the occasion for once.

  • looks like there's more media in Hackney than there are youths

    I certainly hope so.

  • Smashing up Ladbrokes? What on earth is the point?

  • I love Hackney and I don't want it to be smashed up.

Hackney's full of cunts, let them get on with it!

  • Smashing up Ladbrokes? What on earth is the point?

I can think of worse things that could happen

  • Morning Lane Tesco is one of the worst places in the world. It's a bit more shit right now, I guess.

The estates east of Mare St towards Wick Road are pretty rough (looking). I'm guessing that's where these guys are mostly from.

  • I've been to Upper Leytonstone and Stratford. It's nice and calm, although I've seen some gang members from other ends lingering behind Matalan (grey kufiyas means they're from Priory Estate). Tesco is in tact, but the security guards seem to be shitting themselves. Argos has its shutters down, though. Leyton is fucked. Stratford is just busy as always. Revolutionaries seem to have a beauty sleep.

  • Hackney town hall employees have been told to go home. London fields cycles was told by police to put down their shutters and close

  • Paramedic vehicle damaged too apparently. It won't be long before the next emergency vehicle that gets fucked over will lead to some shocking scenes. I know where the response vehicles are and I know they aren't going to be dicking around with these idiots.

  • god forbid this spreads to broadway market, i have dvd's to return and i would hate to get a late fine

  • Smashing up Ladbrokes? What on earth is the point?

Those little pens are fucking lethal!

  • Attacking fire engines and ambulances is possibly about as low as it gets

  • god forbid this spreads to broadway market, i have dvd's to return and i would hate to get a late fine

    Lozzles
