Yeah, also on the Wetherspoon's patch, but I was with clients, so couldn't kick up a fuss. Was more concerned that in this Britain, it's acceptable to go to work with your own poppy fascist armband.
Go to Fine Line - not cheap, but better beer options than most of the other Wharfer hellholes.

The poppy armband is quite something!
-
• #43304
What kind of clients choose to go to Wetherspoons?!
-
• #43305
I want an armband. I may put a picture of my cat on it.

Also haven't been to a 'spoons since dickface's Brexit BS.

That explains the profit warning.

Northerners?

Happily, we don't live in a fascist state, so we can wear what we like. The banning of religious symbols in France has been really divisive. Are footballers fascists when they wear black armbands?
-
• #43311
You don't wear armbands for football, you're thinking of swimming.
-
• #43312
Sorry, my mistake. Surprising how many young fascists one sees at the leisure centre these days.
-
• #43313
Northerners?
Yup. At £2.19 a pint you'd stupid not to.
-
• #43314
Although what a 'Spoons charges at Canary Wharf is probably obscene. How much chance from a Plastic Fiver?

If it wasn't for all the rain and the fact they get 2 hours of daylight and 6 months of snow in the winter I'd move to Norway. Bergen specifically.
-
• #43318
Much of Norway, including the capital, is at the same lattitude as Glasgow, you get more like 4 hours light in mid-winter. What puts me off is it's about £9 a pint.
-
• #43319
Nah, Trondheim or gtfo.
-
• #43320
Norway is still awesome, especially Oslo and I would be happy to live there if I didn't have a disablity.

.

• #43322
Oslo is about the same latitude as the Shetland Islands and they're as far north of Glasgow as Glasgow is of London.
Thought the four hours thing sounded a bit wrong having lived in Glasgow for eight years. It is a bit grim up there in the middle of winter but the sun's still up for seven hours.
-

We went to Trondheim last New Years. The scenery, people and pretty much everything was awesome apart from the lack of sunlight. We ended up well out of sync and tetchy within a couple of days.

They're still happy to pump millions and millions of barrels of oil out of the North Sea and sell it though.

I stand corrected. Looks like about 4 hours here though

and here
You don't have to go? I've been on a self imposed ban of Wetherspoons since that cunt who owns it appeared on TV during run up to referendum.
Which makes it really hard to drink for cheepz in Canary Wharf.
