  • If you become one of those fucking cyclocross guys I'll never talk to you again...

So when can I come and stay?

  • Can you really see Mrak as one of those people who stands outside through the winter, drinking beer?

    Oh.

  • I'd move in a heartbeat. Get me a job and we'll make sure there's a room permanently available for you.

  • Whoa. I'm rethinking my hobbies all of a sudden.

  • isn't that where tony's from?

  • The case for moving gets stronger by the minute...

  • You didn't mention the chips, they are obsessive about their chips. They even have museums about them.

  • Heathrow expansion is absolutely rotten news. The Stone Age never really ended in transportation, but if there's one thing we don't need, it's more airport capacity.

  • Oh, and third runway now confirmed. Subject to a public consultation, final government decision and parliamentary vote. Done deal then.

  • Do you have a link to the new flight paths?

  • I'd love to see the cost of building decent high speed rail connections to Gatwick and Stansted, versus the cost of adding a third runway to Heathrow.

But don't worry, when Brexit happens and we become a poor, backward country, no-one will want to fly over to their holiday home in the Dordogne every other weekend anymore.

  • And they've got the best building in the world and ace record shops... Rains a lot tho' and terrible drivers...

  • You haven't mentioned the roads. Worst roads in Europe.

Clunk, clunk, clunk as you hit those expansion joints every 5 metres.

  • Flanders, innit.

  • Looks like he will be.

Following the Government's catastrophic Heathrow announcement, I will be meeting my constituents later today before making a statement.

  • he's going to quit? does this mean he'll be out of a job? oh no! how will he pay his rent without a steady source of income?

maybe he'll finally have some time to catch up on his favourite bollywood movies.

  • They have an interactive map on all the BBC news articles about expansion.

  • Today's a good day for burying good news.

  • I rember the Economist explained the Heathrow expansion as a way in which the right wing can indulge in a bit of Keynesianism to counter the recession, but without having to worry that their tax money might end up as handouts to lazy scroungers.

    EDIT (last bit)

  • I thought that was the purpose of HS2?

  • Cue foreign-owned, (mainly Spanish, Chinese & Qatari?), Heathrow Airport Ltd., negotiate/bully the CAA into letting them increase the Landing Fees and Passenger Handling fees, from about the middle of next month, so the expansion is paid for by passengers before the Third runway is even commissioned, and to avoid the owners having to borrow any more capital.

  • Needs more airport:

  • thanks, it doesnt show as far east as I am unfortunately

  • without having to worry that their tax money might end up in the hands of lazy, undeserving plebs.
