Blimey. 57 labour MPs voting with the govt allegedly (unofficial count based on someone watching which MPs walked through the divisions).
-
• #38155
What have we learned from history? Apparently nuthin
Total stupidity
-
• #38156
A good speech from Benn and a good result in the commons imo.
-
• #38157
Well let's hope there's a 'good result' out in the real world. I'm far from optimistic.

It's a start..

It's a start..
... of a vicious and pointless conflict that the UK and its idiotic allies will not win...

What do you propose is done about ISIS? Out of interest.
-
• #38163
As if bombing the shit out of densely populated cities is a foolproof plan of action?
I think it's more honourable to say 'I don't have an answer, it's complex, but we've seen that expensive, unpopular and deadly wars in that region haven't really worked' than just say 'fuck it, let's bomb the cunts and see if that works'
-
• #38164
i for one would be willing have a straightener with any one of them
-
• #38165
I propose we don't go guns blazing into a war half-cocked just to massage Dave's fragile fucking ego and solidify his already cuntish legacy...
-
• #38166
So actually you don't propose anything?
-
• #38167
ffs just got home to this and the news that the Uk Gov has voted for Bombing in Syria.
:( -
• #38168
All those bombs sat in bunkers doing nothing aren't enhancing anyone's share portfolio.
-
• #38169
That sounds like a macho provocation.
Why has something that the majority of MPs thought was a bad idea two months ago won a vote tonight? Only because the Paris attacks worked exactly as IS intended in terms of propoganda. Nothing else really changed. It's no better an idea. -
• #38170
Of course, something is always better than nothing.
-
• #38171
That BBC piece about propaganda output that someone linked to recently really showed this. Perhaps that's where the 'action' should take place. Incredible imagery. Bombs will not counteract it.

• #38172
I would start by getting all parties into a room and having a nice chat over a cup of tea...
But no, the cycle of violence must continue... After all we're selling so many arms to Saudi which are then getting passed onto Daesh, it's a win/win situation, isn't it?
-
• #38173
I was with a crank the other day who over extended himself in the last property bubble and lost big in the 07/08 crisis, so he's a bit bit twisted re banks etc, cunt tried to say Paris was probably a "false flag" event initiated by the CIA for New World Order

Heidi Alexander MP just wrote to me. Template letter but still.

@hoefla I am genuinely curious though. It is a very complex issue indeed..!
@Dramatic_Hammer I take your point but - we are already bombing Iraq and have been using drone strikes in Syria for a while. All we are doing is widening the method of delivery. I don't see the reason we should restrict our military action to a border that isn't recognised by the enemy.
What would his dad have thought of that speech?
