radio 4 have, over the last few months, had a series of interviews between rspb and opponents of the work they do, rspb don't seem to be entirely on the side of the animals they purport to support

Neil Robertson, the RSPB’s director for Northern England, ... claims the development could “promote and enhance the biodiversity” of the area, despite the farmland being home to barn owls, lapwings and badgers.
Exactly. In addition to the barn owls and badgers there will now be humans and their pets living there too. And given that we're the smartest animal you could definitely say that the biodiversity has been 'enhanced'.

Ahem...

Don't forget all those night-roaming cats, doing their bit for the natural order of predation!

Part of the government plans for reducing road pollution?

I read somewhere that you need to generate a code which is valid for 72 hours.

How does the entire rest of Europe who haven't had paper counterparts for years manage?
This is all a load of fuss about nothing.
-
• #35311
They might manage with an online system that enables them to look up whether or not the person who wishes to drive a vehicle is currently banned/has a bazillion points/is an habitual drunkard/etc.
-
• #35312
Or they might not give points for every little speeding infringement, so it doesn't bloody matter.
-
• #35313
Abandon the points system and replace with Judge Dredd style summary execution. Problem solved. Or maybe a shit on the bonnet for minor infringements.

The latest Jack Warner wheeze to be uncovered is to steal funds meant for the Haiti earthquake, the lovable old rogue. Couple this with the Germans buying votes from Saudi by making arms deals, this is cracking stuff - a shitload of real world corruption is going to come out. This one will run and run, really hope they've kept Sepp well away from the shredder.

There's a topic about this.
Don't think it'll happen unless you rewrite the Highway Code.
-
• #35323
I'm not aware of TfL having the authority to do that.
[Edit] Or maybe they do. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Don't think it'll happen unless you rewrite the Highway Code.
The Highway Code is irrelevant. If they don't have the authority, it would require legislation to provide it.

Rode past one of the fully segregated fuck-off-into-where-people-get-off-the-bus lanes the other day and, unsurprisingly, it was completely full of crap because the cleaning machines don't go down them.
Do not want.
The claim that 'land is not beneficial for wildlife' doesn't have the ring of truth to it, though.
