  • I'd just like to wish the un-unionised staff at NoTW luck in negotiating their redundancy packages.

  • What was Cameron thinking when he employed Coulson as director of communications is still beyond me. He might as well hired a Mugabe as his human rights advisor.

    Or George Osborne as Chancellor.

    SATIRE

  • We need these guys:

    STAT

  • James Murdoch says it is unfair for NOTW staff who were not working there when the hacking occurred to lose their jobs; they were not responsible or implicated. So presumably people who were working there at the time, as, say, editor, are responsible and implicated? I think he just stuck the knife in to Brooks.

  • She's still head of news international though, it's the workers losing their jobs.

  • She is for now.
Ken Clarke is in many ways a complete shit but he has some ability to say what he really thinks too *"Justice Secretary Ken Clarke said: "All they're going to do is rebrand it" *

  • They've been quietly planning a seven day a week Sun for a while - there's a guardian media blog somewhere...

  • first Sunday edition comes with a free sim card

  • ^repped.

Now, where have I read that before? Was it in a Johan Hari interview?

  • John Hari probably stole it from someone else

    *comprehension fail

  • I cracked it in the RIP thread and promise I haven't heard it before..

Oh hai The Sun on Sunday! It's nice to see you've registered a domain name two days ago.

*I didn't discover this. Read it on Aidan's Facebook. And it doesn't prove anything. Could just be a coincidence....

in his latest interview, james murdoch says he has faith in rebekah brooks.

"i am satisfied that rebekah - her leadership and her standard of ethics and her standard of conduct - is very good.

"i am satisfied that she neither had knowledge of nor directed those activities".

    o rly?

  • "Coulson has been told by police that he will be arrested on Friday morning over suspicions that he knew about, or had direct involvement in, the hacking of mobile phones during his editorship of the News of the World."

Excellent, hopefully this spills even more into Cameron's lap.

  • o rly?

Yes, I think so. I think they want her to resign, do the decent thing, take 'ultimate responsibility' even though she was not involved etc, leave without admitting anything and with their 'full support'. Though Private Eye are suggesting she will leave soon anyway as she is planning to get pregnant.

Hislop took one for the team.

  • Can you imagine the results? It doesn't even bare thinking about.

  • Why does Rebecca Brook's appearance get so much attention when no one makes similar comments about that glamour boy Rupert Murdoch?

  • Because she has big hair.

  • Murdoch is one of the most odious cretins ever to have escaped from Australia.
