  • c'mon news thread - what's the story? or link to it. I just googled "news green brighton" and got nothing newer than 2 months ago...

  • Come on hoefla, even I can Google better than that and I have spoons for fingers.
Start here http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/dec/15/greens-blown-it-in-brighton and work forwards.
I fear the worst thing that could happen to the Greens is to be allowed to take part in the TV debates.

  • clusterfuck that has happened in brighton

    Pride?

  • Read up on what is happening in brighton and see how the UKIP of the left term has been earned. Brighton even had a refuse strike.

    From the spectator -http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9342592/brighton-has-become-an-object-lesson-in-why-it-is-a-disaster-to-vote-green/

  • I'm not thick enough to debate with lynx, but I'm assuming this is a major party pile-on in the only constituency of any significance that has a voter population that has actually thought it through?

  • I guess if the Spectator, that famous red flag waving bastion of the left, is criticising the Greens then that's pretty much case closed.

Voting Greens makes you a xenophobic flag-waver with some nasty racist, sexist and homophobic undertones, end of.

  • Lol at a 1-week bin strike being the pinnacle of anti-greens 'evidence'.

  • 64% of tv programmes over xmas week will be repeats

I, for one, can never have enough Only Fools and Horses or The Vicar of Dibley christmas specials...

  • ^^^^^^^ ah cheers Will (see I even decline to @ you)

  • Now I really miss the auto save function that other forum software has, but here I go again arghhh for the third time.

    Bollocks to you BT.

  • ugh. that Spectator "article" is shite... (and so were the next couple of things I clicked on there).

  • at hoefla. Appreciated.

  • This was so much better the first time.

The green party in Brighton, I believe, have earned the title of the UKIP of the left as they seem to have similar traits as they seem to come up with the ideas such as no meat monday in all council canteens. Which didn't go down well with the people who used the canteens. In Brighton the green party have come up with there own (possibly derogative) terms of mango and watermelon. The party seem to regularly shot themselves in the foot, even with the recycling of waste to be a green party and be in the lowest 30 seems to be be quite bad.

From someone looking in, the party members seem to spend more time trying to build little empires than actually trying to follow the ethos of the party. Maybe the term you kill what you love is apt.

  • If that were true maybe more people would vote for them. Think its more to do the opposite ends of the political spectrum.

  • I often wonder if there are any politicians with any real convictions of their beliefs any more. Get the feeling alot of the main party members are out for their own benefit and those they know or fund them. Maybe it has always been like that but I was not old enough or wise enough to notice.

  • Lynx, you should write to the letters page of the local rag 'The Argus'.

    You'd go down a treat there (just don't mention you're a cyclist).

  • It's okay, he isn't.

  • Wow, that article is terrible.

  • Noone would have even noticed if they had just quietly introduced a vegetarian menu on a Monday. It's not even a bad idea.

  • "The money was just resting in those accounts" said Vatican spokesperson Cardinal Crilly.

  • In the category, an uncle of mine used to study traffic and taught as a professor.

His conclusion is that new roads only fill up, and the only way to regenerate inner cities is by slowing down the car, and improving public transport. As people tend to flee to the suburbs, with Chicago an extreme example.

    End of CSB.

  • Yes, agreed for every bit of capacity we manage to squeeze out it just gets filled up anyway.

  • The war on motorists tho

  • I understand strangulation, but FFS what's wrong now with facesitting?

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/a-long-list-of-sex-acts-just-got-banned-in-uk-porn-9897174.html

Then again, are these governors not usable for something more useful?

  • Female ejeculation?

Someone needs to explain to me why men can squirt on stuff/People/etc. in films, and women cant.
