I doubt the Taliban were involved. Even they have enough sense to avoid hearing U2.

Putting aside the fact that he died,
The fact that a 56 year-old conservative constituency chairman is at glastonbury is surely the ultimate signal that the festival has massively jumped the shark, if any further proof were needed.Still, the rock and roll death might give the tories some street cred.
-
• #3224
Not too sure about the street cred. I seem too remember that a Tory MP called Steven Milligan died in 1994, he was found in his flat in Chiswick strangled in women's clothes with an orange segment in his mouth. I seem to remember that he was high and went out in the same way as Michael Hutchence, now I ain't saying that this is the same thing but that was the closest that has come to a rock and roll death by an active member of the tory party, to my knowledge at least, and it reduced them to a laughing stock.

Yeah, you're right, nothing will ever give them street cred.
PR disaster for Glastonbury though:
"Are you going to glastonbury next year?"
"Nah, it's full of middle aged tories!"
Not really their target audience, I imagine. U2 and Coldplay though, maybe theres a hidden opera field, and a polo tournament you can only get into with a special wristband.
Man in America robs bank for $1 so he can get medical treatment in prison.
