stay away from the tube, american embassy and israeli embassy for starters
not much good if you get blown up outside of the capital
i wonder if, say there was a terrorist attack on glasgow, it would sway the leave/stay vote?

I think an attack in England would strengthen the "No" vote, and an attack in Scotland would strengthen the "Yes" vote.
Based on polling of one.

Let's see if we can't get the announcement on the same page for a fourth time...
Perhaps edwardzion could chime in and tell us that it's the fault of an islamofascist caliphate.

So it is possible to get proper jail time for kiling cyclists - but you have to hire a lawyer who is absolutely cuckoo-bananas:

Ouch. I was just reading about that ruling over on the cycling silk's website: http://thecyclingsilk.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/case-update-r-v-wojcicki-turning-corner.html
He didn't mention any of the circus surrounding the case, though. It's certainly possible that the jury only convicted because they took a disliking to the guy's representative after the judge put the boot in. Makes me feel a bit like Porter's cautious optimism is completely unfounded, sadly.

the percentage chance of you dying on your tube journey home today has risen 0.0001% ... do you really want to take that risk ?

Yes, it would have been useful to mention that the defence solicitor was bat-shit insane as that does rather change the "oh, perhaps it's not a total waste of time trying to get justice for cyclists killed by motorists" feeling that the Cycling Silk presented.

He has more recommendations for meditation than law.
Having said that, if half of what he claims is true, he seems to be a very qualified person. Although I'm not sure about the military patents from 1940?

According to some bloke in the comments, Tim Harford will be tackling the issue in his More >or Less programme on BBC Radio 4 to illustrate the perils of seemingly whiter than white charities harbouring some bone-headed agenda
I see. That road.cc article is amaze. I love the way you can tell the first third of it probably went through the editor before their eyes glazed over and the author was let off the leash completely.
Pun intended.

It is a good one. It'll have absolutely no effect, though - the briefest of googles just turns up the press release and the BBC article being regurgitated word-for-word sans correction over and over again all over the net. A few people are taking the charity to task on Twitter and they've gamely ignored every single one, while at the same time encouraging cyclists to go on one of their charity cycle rides. Fabulous press coup there.
Well-written article over on this highway engineer's blog over it: http://therantyhighwayman.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/guide-dogs-cycle-eyes-campaign-barking.html

Oh yeah, totally. The story is out - a perfect demonstration of bullshit requiring exponentially more energy to refute than to create. Idiots.
I still can't believe that shit got a slot on the BBC AM news. The clowns. And the new Dr.Who is crap. What do I pay my license fee for etc?
