Known anarchist Charlie Veitch was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause a public nuisance and to prevent a breach of the peach.

Another good Indy article - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/a-truckers-view-of-life-in-the-cycle-lane-2278512.html
I like this as it shows the reality of things (imo) Commercial drivers aren't out there to kill you but as everyone knows there is a large amount of stupidity in each group - you get stupid cyclists, stupid peds, stupid taxi drivers etc. The only difference with lorries is that they need competent drivers and also visual aids. Without the visual aids a competent driver could make a slight mistake and with a 40ton veh the damage can easily be a lot. With visual aids and a stupid driver he may chose to ignore the visual aids and be a cock. Thats life.

We do have rather crap transport police in the UK, actually we barely had any.

It could but I very much doubt.

Looking increasingly likely that AV will get crushed tomorrow at the polls. I hope I am wrong.
Congratulations to the No Campaign. Outright lies, half-truths, and fallacies have prevailed. It's pretty depressing to think how ignorant many people are.

Ed, transport police are very different from traffic police--the former look after security around transportation systems (rail, airports, etc.), the latter police road traffic. And once again, those few traffic police we do have are actually generally considered to be very good--they're just largely limited to collision investigation as they don't have the numbers to do much enforcement, which is therefore largely carried out by other officers. I know that what you're trying to say is that having so few officers makes traffic policing overall inadequate, but what you're actually doing is insulting the officers.

traffic police, not transport police, got it.
what I was saying is that we barely had enough traffic police to police the road properly, I remember you mentioned that a lots of crime usually involved vehicles, and traffic police is the best way to combat it.

Yeah, FUCk that guy. How often can someone claim extenuating circumstances? It's unbelievable that society fails to recognise the elevated public risk associated with driving, to this extent.

Well, I wouldn't say that traffic police are the best to combat crime, but traffic controls certainly provide an additional screening line.

It references the last of the British survivors;
'The last three WWI veterans living in Britain - Bill Stone, Henry Allingham and Harry Patch - all died in 2009'.
I remember that, their names and interviews. Tremendous men. But now the absolute last man standing has passed, regardless of nation.

This.
I actually feel a bit choked up.
I was listening to the radio this morning there was a piece on this then they interviewed some of the people 7/7 bombings. The spoke to one of the police officers who went into the tunnel to save people. He was very humble and clearly still very affected. I was very close to tears.

“No campaign used made-up figures”, says David Blunkett

In fact, that's more of a 'suggestion' of a punch.
