- Cherish your teeth and eat crunchy food while you still can. Avoid soup and porridge so that when you have to spend six months eating only soup and porridge you can handle it without turning to suicide. For instance.
This one. In fact all the teeth ones. Heed them.

http://www.newstatesman.com/lifestyle/2013/08/b-how-not-die-bike-londonC'mon, that's very tongue in cheek and rather funny in parts. Almost every rant could include a link to a thread on this forum ranting about the same stuff.

- Nobody likes the guy on the fixie bike who balances at the lights. Put your foot down. We’re grown-ups. We’re not playing that game where the ground is lava.

Agreed, I thought it was quite a funny article.

+1. It's not meant to be serious. I read it as a tongue in cheek pop at those people who find out you cycle around London then go 'AGH ISN'T THAT REALLY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN?!'. And there are actually some quite salient points in it.
I love this headline, for a number of reasons:
Plucky pensioner costs Tesco £300,000 in victory from beyond the graveAlso because her surname was Smallman. A victory for a Smallman over a corporate giant.

Just because someone is wearing more Lycra that you does not mean they’re a more experienced rider, it just means they bought more Lycra than you

Wow, what a pile of scaremongering, sensationalist, antagonistic bullshit. "Statistically more likely to be dead". Stupid woman.
well I feel a bit stupid now. It was funny, second time around...

The Guardian vs GCHQ - walls have ears
He said by way of example that if there was a plastic cup in the room where the work was being carried out, foreign agents could train a laser on it to pick up the vibrations of what was being said.

I still don't find any of it particularly funny or interesting. I've read pretty much the same article dozens of times over. And I can't stand it if people try to make a 'joke' out of dying from riding.

Shit article in a shit magazine. That rag is embarrassing to the left.

I’ve been a cyclist in central London for almost two years and I am not yet dead.
This is probably statistically rare given I am 20-something and female, and when thinking back over my first year it certainly feels like an unlikely outcome.
She's bright.
I've not read the article.

Peru drug pair to plead 'Not guilty'
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23776210
Of course you're not guilty. Has anyone ever been caught smuggling drugs that has been guilty? There's always some dodgy Northern bloke 'forcing them' into it.
If you can't handle the punishment don't commit the crime in the first place. Fucking idiots -

Couldn't agree more, they are as guilty as it gets.

I hope that is not the kind of paint that gets very slippery when wet, could cause a leaning cyclist to crash.
Very irresponsible behaviour. Round up and shoot all involved.

Its like a strange Guardian version of the Jan Moir Stephen Gately controversy.
Young man dies, attribute it to something you find unpalatable without any evidence. Wonder what the death rate of interns at Banks vs the rest of the similar aged population is.

I read that last night and they said 3 days on the trot. People ride RAAM in 8 days with 40min sleep per day. Bankers need to HTFU.

This was quite a good point though
"Just because someone is wearing more Lycra that you does not mean they’re a more experienced rider, it just means they bought more Lycra than you. See also: artists with better tools, leather portfolios; writers with Moleskines. "
I had a moleskine once. It didnt make me a better writer.
