Have you been there? Have you ever worked there? Do you know the proprietors? Is there a shortage of other venues in the area?

He's dying of pancreatic cancerI've followed Wilco around since his early Feelgood days and up until about a year ago live.
Its very sad so I'm not sure how to approach a farewell gig anywhere.
A celebration of a life I suppose ? -

I think the point is that some people will be voting for him because he's black, with the actual politics taking a backseat. Which is discrimination based on race surely. The exact idea that these groups are against.
you don't honestly believe there are more people voting for obama simply because he's black than there are people voting against him for the same reason do you?

This is, however oversimplified, perfectly possible.

I couldn't go watch him play one last time, it would be too emotional

I reckon the dude was on an alternate flight course, had no visibility and no information regarding new tower and melted into the jib flat out (200mph+) thinking he was safe at 800ft ceiling.
Don't replicate.

A persistently amusing undercurrent of German news at the moment are the plagiarism proceedings against leading German politicians. Currently, it is none other than the Education Secretary who is facing the loss of her doctorate:
Previously, the former Defence Secretary was convicted of plagiarising large parts of his thesis, and other leading politicians were discovered, too.

The guy lives on Bram Stoker Close? That's a great street name.
Interesting to hear a more informed opinion than mine on this. It's slightly unescessary to refer to them as "crazies", though. There is a widely held snobbishness towards middle american christianity among the more liberal east and west coast cities, which does nothing to soften the rift and the extreme attitudes of the more religious in society, but rather deepens the rift and strengthens their bigoted views in retaliation.
I welcome your point about the majority of Americans being able to countenance an atheist president, I would not have guessed.
