There are two arguements to this benefit thing. The first half is the usual right verses left, benefits are there to protect the vunerable, in doing so you will inevitably open up the chance that someone will pretend to be vunerable to have an easy life. The right wing think it's better that a few vunerable people are let down by society than that some one takes advantage of the system for an easy life lefties don't care too much about benefit cheats so long as people with real problems aren't left behind. There's no point arguing about it, just a question of where you draw your line.
The second part of the argument is there are better ways of saving money. As long as there are armed forces in other countries not wearing sky blue helmets the nation is wasting money...
