When it comes to the roads, what Britons want is not efficiency, but equality of misery.

they are as happy to sit in queues of traffic as they are happy to stand in queues in shops.
it gives me a great sense of warmth and security to know that the English are as habitual as ever, despite all the changes in modern life, having a new car each couple of years is a right- an essential part of living here. -

It's bullshit, I don't think people understand how the M4 bus lane works and the non effect of scrapping it.
-
• #1569
correct^^
putting bus lanes into the capital from hubs all around to reduce all the traffic coming into town would alleviate the whole situation, with service coaches full of commuter nodders
but it dosent matter Tommythey want to sit in the cars, they are so stuck in the fatass mentality that says car is superior that it will never change.

Does N+1 apply to cars too?

A lot of people buy new cars on tick so it makes sense to trade it in every few years rather than deal with mechanical problems, it's more like a long term hire setup for many.

@SD
probably for the real petrol heads.
you will have noticed a subtle shift in the emphasis now though on the road,
there are increasingly more of those silly little boxes appearing, being marketed as green cars, they are 'nippy' and dont cost as much to run, and check it out you can still have the stereo on and be warm, and yes-- you can still join the queue. -

No different to stealing a bike. Ha!

Really stupid though. If you can't afford it don't buy it, simples.
