  • In that case, fair enough. I'm used to forums with pro-Israel trolls who would follow up something like that by bleating about anti-semitism.

  • ^Jew hater.

  • From the same page too. Typical anti-semite behaviour.

  • Damn it.
    I hate reposting.
At least thats a new page to hide my shame.

  • It also means the end of you favourite pixellated information service, Ceefax.

The closet thing I had to the internet when I were a lad.

you can still get it on digital

  • I imagine the israeli soldier, just before hitting the Dane, thinking to himself

    "Jew?"
    [...]
    "NO JEW!"
    [smack]

But in all seriousness that is really bad.

  • The cake was a publicity stunt to raise awareness of the issue of female circumcision. Not quite sure how it was going to do that but it did land the Swedish home secretary (equivalent of) in quite a large amount of bother when she used the stunt as a photo op and was pictured in the press eating a slice of fanny.

  • Don't think the fanny eating was the problem...

  • No I think Spotter may have subtly pointed out what the perceived problem was.

  • The irony of acting like such a bender to persuade a woman to marry you

Just lolled my pants at work.

The lightshow is scheduled to take place from 9.15pm on April 18.

I assume they have water in the sockets - not on yet.

Read this today about the 'futility' of the war on drugs. Nothing really new but I recently spoke to someone who works on this sort of thing from a stopping bad peopel angle and he was of a similar opinion to a degree. However while he saw the advantage of decriminilisation his feeling was that rather than limit the harm caused by criminals they would simply move onto the latest illegal thing to maximise their profits.

Just like business really. This wasn't something I'd really thought about but the more I think about it I realise it's quite unlikely that a dealer in Massive Drugs (any B3tans here?) is going to try and get a job at the local shop.

Is this an arguement to not decriminalise and legislate (and tax) drugs? I mean what if the criminals move into the lucrative fixeh skidder business and start making really, shit conversions? Could we be the next victims of the war on drugs?

  • ^ It's a valid point but I think the possible rises in other sorts of crime would be less harmful (in theory) than the loss of life that comes from preying on vulnerable people and encouraging their habit while selling them low quality, dangerous gear.

Say if fraud doubles as a result of drugs being legalised, there are systems in place to get your money back from the bank if you are a victim of fraud, but there is no such back-up if you get addicted to smack, it's something you can't undo.

  • This.

Having a regulated, taxed system of distributing drugs, with support systems, anti-addiction programs etc, would be a far more effective way of dealing with the problem.

A vast majority of drug users would no longer have contact with criminals, would receive better, standardised quality, and would therefore have less health issues as well.

Sure, some of the criminals would be forced to take up other crime, but some probably do it because it pays better than a job, remove that, and they might go back on the straight and narrow.
