Nice weather for it too.
-

It'll be at least a week before the strike, so typically by then the weather will have turned shit, summer will be over and people will hate the strikers even more.
-
• #14256
Don't hate the
strickersstrikers. Hate on the system.Fuck the po-lice etc.

Hmm, not sure. Can't see anything to object. My fingers despise spelling anything correctly today.

This made me laugh:
George Osborne £1,000. It would be more, but he doesn't really understand "decimal places".

On the BBC they had a overweight 'Mercan being interviewed whilst wearing his bluetooth headset ("Y'all, it makes me look like I'm Secret Service, mmm'K").
"Yeah, the pilot was talkin' bout I-raq and Afghanistan, and so I showed him what I-raq and Afghanistan are really about, and got a choke hold on and sat on him".
Always nice to get a little adhoc surprise lesson about the world - I hadn't known what I-raq was all about until this morning.

Fill up your car! Stockpile beans! Buy a shotgun!
Couldn't get near the local Sainsburys for a queue of old farts, panic-buying petrol for their Rover 214s.
I swear if the Daily Mail ran this headline: "Killing yourself in retirement can increase the value of your home by 25%", we'd see the bastards jumping off bridges like lemmings.

^ Whilst I agree that science is amazing, it annoys me that the money (it has been dubbed the most expensive medical procedure in history) was used for someone who "shot himself in the face by accident". He has no life threatening conditions etc.
All that money could have been used to aid people in the US without insurance who have curable diseases or need immediate medical care.
It's just a bit vain.
-

Can't agree with that Soul. The new techniques will help people with life-threatening diseases - cancers, developmental problems etc.
And that's just the obvious stuff. Who knows what it'll mean for people who need heart transplants or those affected by strokes? That's the thing about science - you never know where it's going to lead to.
-
• #14273
^ a fair point but why not try the procedure on someone who wasn't dumb enough to stare down the barrel of a loaded gun? Maybe it's a little harsh but I just think that there must be someone out there who is a little more deserving.
