  • "there are a handful of banking families, including the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, who have come to dominate economic and political affairs in the Western world."

The Rothschilds are in it for the long term and the family still run it. They don't allow the stupidities we've seen in the other banks. No sub-prime lending, no traders losing billions in unauthorised trading. It the other banks were run by people who fully intended to pass on the legacy to their great grandchildren and not by people obsessed by this years bonus package we might be in a very different situation today.

  • The reason why Italy, Greece and Spain are defaulting is because you can't have whole countries just made of restaurants.

  • It's all looking a bit grim atm and Italian debt is heading towards 120% of GDP... so funding is very expensive for them in the short-term. Markets are looking for serious reform from them coupled with less fucking about in Greece, else funding will remain high and then the reamaining wheels are going to come off in a big way. Here's the Italian reform timetable for anyone who gives a shit, which along with some progress in Greece should keep a lid on things.

  • cut & paste apocolypse!

  • ouch!

  • What do you mean, 'when'?

Physical invasion is costly and dreadfully old fashioned.

Financial invasion is much more profitable - they virtually own half of Africa, and they recently gave the US a public bollocking for being so silly with the money they borrowed from the Chinese.
If we realised just how much of the European pie they had dibs on it would make for grim reading...

I blame Dammit, and his cheap carbon rims.

  • Fuck me, that is dark. But not quite as dark as Encyclopaedia Dramatica - which I've never seen before. Altho I guess ED is just a compilation of the darkness of humanity... not really friday thoughts are they.

I dont know if you actually watched the vid. Was really sad (I think I mightve cried). But at the same time an element of it was kind of heartwarming in a very human way.

The parents are pretty much evil yeah. But the girl is a great kid and you can really "feel it". Human empathy and all that, the ED article summed up the massive support from internet-geek world of 4chan and such, the MASSIVE collective sympathy and "nerdrage" as ED put it.

It makes me happy that the girl survived it all, and now has immense support from pretty much the world. Releasing the video is some kind of release for her, she is "over it" and her lousy parents. Destined for good things while her parents will go rot somewhere.

There is so many little elements of the story to relate to. Even the fact she installed kazaa to get anime & games.

Oh and, I wouldnt ever call ED a collection of "darkness". Its more like an encyclopedia of meme/viral stuff on the net which includes things which might usually be "obscene".

There are however hundreds of popular video sites on the net that focus on fucked up stuff like gruesome deaths, executions and such. Rule 34 bizzarre sick porn and more. Those places are collection of darkness.

  • Thoughts going out to the people of Genoa, Italy.

The local government still haven't put flood defences in place after years of the same situation. 10 people dead this time

  • Are you surprised considering the price of hookers these days?

I watched a bit of it, but to be honest, I had to stop (partly as I was at work, but also because I didn't want to). But Yes, I know what you mean about the heart warming side. It's not a world I know about but you could tell that there was support out there.

Of course as it's an "encyclopaedia" (of sorts), a lot of the content is just a reflection of what's out there. But then they do satirically alter meanings, so from that point it's generating content. But from what I saw browsing through, it seemed to be predominately dark....

...but maybe that's just a reflection of what I clicked on.

  • For those cycling to Brighton this weekend, there are some very odd thieves working the South
    Coast towns right now:

  • I suppose it's easier than taking the piss.

  • some other, better, more fully worked out joke about taking the piss

  • Why are the police hunting for the bloke though, was there an actual crime?

  • Maybe the old lady really wants the poo back, for some sinister geriatric purpose.

  • Why are the police hunting for the bloke though, was there an actual crime?

The reason they are looking for him is that he clearly intended to do a crime (bag-snatching), so he's a wrong un who needs to be banged up. Attempting a crime, even if it ends in failure, is still a crime.
