So I need to know what rear hub I'm using before I can buy/install a BB?
-
• #29
yep, your crank arms and hub determine what bb spindle taper/length you will need
-

So I guess I'd better make up my mind on a rear set-up.
Fancying a Phil so I can still go with a sugino75 BB. Worth the extra ££££.

Yuh they are really nice hubs, if I was gonna spend dosh on a BB though I would go with a royce BB.....awesomeness :)

I hear (correct me if I'm wrong) that, although both ISO, the Royce BB and Sugino crankset aren't actually compatible. I also read somewhere that you can send in the cranks you want to use and Royce'll spec the BB to suit them. For that sort of money I guess anything's possible!

Interesting I didn't know that, to me they appeared the same fitment, but....if they don't charge any extra to spec one to fit your cranks, i'd do it, english made bike porn ;)

Cheapest Royce BB is £115. Bit more than £60 for a sugino.

Anyone know the axle length on the gran compe rear hubs?
Wanting to fit one into a 130mm spaced frame and wondering how far I need to cold press it before I can just stick spacers on. -
• #36
prob, 120mm

Goldtec provide/make a spacer kit for 130mm i'm pretty sure, why mess with your frame unecessarily, plus the threadless cone nut design is superior IMO.

In the market for set of sealed hubs, decided on Dia Compes. However, it seems there 2 sets available: Dia Compe and Gran Compe? Please can someone enlighten me?
Does anyone know where l can find a pair of 32H fix/fix in silver? Thanks!

Loads of places have them. JFGI.
You want gran compe track hubs.

I take it that you do not want that 36H DA hub then?

Yes, sorry, just found out the GC are step above the regular DCs.
Sorry Dammit, l sent you email re: hub. Hubs aren't for me and he wants sealed bearings.
Understand that, but how/were do you adjust it to get it straight.
