  • mOst people probbley right the first thing that cum into there heds anyway, laugh out, loud.

  • The constant correcting of forum members grammar, spelling, etc... is frighfully boring. I can't imagine anyone writes in the same manner on here as they would in their work, I often spell check and refernece the dictionary when I'm at work and writing emails but I'd feel a right sad cunt for doing it before clicking the submit reply button on here.

    Just a thought.

To be honest its only the punctuation thing that gets me. When someone can't be bothered to punctuate a sentence properly, it means that everyone has to do it for them in their heads while reading it just to get any sense out of it. Streams of conciousness are not sentences!
Like masturbation, it is both messy and selfish.

  • Just wanted to add i spoke to KingCutter the other day with regards to a bike he was selling on Fleebay, again the description was not great which is why i had a chat with him to find out the exact parts make model type etc.., turns out that the bike looked good (the Blue Giant MTB hardtail) but some of the parts where not really what i was looking for... I was pondering over putting a bid in but when weighing up the additional cost to get the parts i wanted on it i decided not to make a bid..

what i'm getting at here is that not everyone is great at giving descriptions, but if you want something specific which is not present then ask for it..

I like the thomson bike but it won't stand up to hard beating off road mtb tracks that i go on (or at least personally i don't think the wheels would take a hammering), it's ideal for a road commuting bike :-), but i'm lazy and use the train to get to work or car...

anyway just my five pence worth is i've spoken to King Cutter where i had the impression he was a genuine nice guy.
    Bubba.

Bubba just kitting it out with XT as we speak.

  • Just smells wrong! Like a fanny that hasn't been washed. WRONG I tells ya!

most things smell wrong if they aren't washed. no need to single out "fannies". cocks and arses smell wrong if they haven't been washed. As do armpits, feet and scalps. And gussets.

I get the impression sometimes that there are many many males on here who have some kind of problem with women, however subconscious it may be. It's disappointing to me, and I'm a fairly uncouth male. No wonder a lot of the girls think it's a crap forum for'em.

  • +1 We should rename it 'London Fixed Gear Misogynists'

  • It's just it's nearly every sodding thread these days. hardly any girls post on here any more and okay I'm just making connections here but if i was a girl I'd get tired of the constant sexism even if i was fairly chilled regarding that sort of thing, which a lot of the girls involved in fixed definitely aren't. I've yet to meet a girl riding fixed gear who conforms to Nuts readers' wankfodder yet I feel like more and more males on this forum are quite happy to fall in with the hideous male stereotype perpetuated by those magazines. You're selling yourselves short. You're becoming proscribed beings.

  • True, dat.

  • In my experience, females tend to dislike the use of the word "cunt". Particularly if repeated, or SHOUTED.

  • and the word 'moist'

  • ^ Good point, but not really valid in this context as it is not really a feature of the forum. That said, I've never really understood why "moist" causes offence.

  • I can't understand why cunt is a seen as a term of abuse anyway. That in itself is misogeny. I mean, they're lovely things and we all came from one.

  • I'm not even talking about the incessant use of the word "cunt" on here, though I personally find it tiring and unnecessary, and however postmodern you wish to argue its use it is still rooted in misogyny. But we've had endless debates about the precious retention of our right to say "cunt", so let's not go there.

It's more that a lot of guys on here seem to be using the forum as a lads' club, and sorry but I don't fall in with that shit. I'm not singling DixonBainbridge out particularly either, before I hurt his feelings, it's just it's a good example of the kind of constant stream of casual misogyny going on. Cool, the joke "it smells wrong - like a..... (insert simile) - it smells WRONG" is up for grabs and laffs - I'm just curious as to why it has to be something ultimately insulting to girls. "like an unwashed cock" would actually have been somehow more acceptable, bawdy and changing-room though it would have remained.

I dunno.. I just think loads of people probably come on here, read a lot of this shit and go "fuck it" because of it.

  • having no girls on this forum anymore is fucking lame, that's all i'm saying.

'shirley' this is the ultimate insult to the girls who are on here

Mrs S would chuckle at that - but then she has clocked 1 hour for a 25m tt, and claims to be quicker than yours truly over 10m (yet to be proven, I might add...)

  • 1 hour for 25 metres isn't the fastest I've seen but good on her for giving it a go.

  • Reminds me of that post from a while ago.

    "What's the hour record?"

    "One hour"

  • those wheels do not look safe nice bike though

  • ***nice

  • It's all over 'fugly'. Ease up on the Thomson stickers tho, makes it look worse . . . Good luck selling it.

  • I blame kingcutter. He supplied the letters: we just went with it.
    What a rotten cunt.

  • Bubba just kitting it out with XT as we speak.

    Very nice !..

i'm chasing for a single speed hardtail at the mo, the only diferences i just wanted remote pop lock on the forks, and some wide riser bars, the only thing left me being a tart an all was some hope mni's or m4's on small rotors (140 - 160mm), then it would have been perfect for me :-).. My full susser is being killed in the really wet muddy woodland rides at the mo..

About your gt how did you tension up the chain ?, i see most people can tension it up by having horizontal drop out's but when you have vertical drop out's a huge pecentace of people fit some form of jockey wheel to tension up the chain.., is it easy to get the rear wheel off and on ?, might give ya another call about it.

p.s.. sorry to hijack your thomson bike thread...

    bubba.
