Lots.
Wind: a little. -

Hail + strong winds blowing it into your face is not a good combo as I discovered this evening. Couple this with being on an unlit road with an inadequate light, and it's probably not one of my best decisions to go out cycling

I hate cycling in Spring when there's a gentle breeze; really makes you think there's a whole world out there and that there has to be more to life than riding round shitty old London in the traffic.

If ive got somewhere to go ill ride in any weather, and feel all the better for it.
Its the days when its raining so heavily you cannot see, so windy your getting blown sideways, and sub 6*C that are really challenging. Theres was lots of days like that last winter and a few this year where Id be soaked through for a whole day at Uni. Leaving puddles wherever I went in the building with squelchy shoes & dripping clothes.
Warm & wet or Cool & dry are a lot more fun.

so far weather has not stopped me riding
but that day a few weeks ago when it snowed, hailed and sleeted on a tuesday evening was not a great deal of fun.
went from hackney to kew, by the time i got home my fingers were too cold to open the door and there was a chunk of ice on my bag (where the snow and sleet had refrozen into a lump)
i now have lightweight waterproof jacket, trousers and overshoes, warm gloves and a snug hat permanently in my bag combined with the grim determination that i will never take public transport just because of the weather.
strangely i quite like cycling in light rain, or just after it has finished raining, as noted above fewer nodders with the additional benefit of lower rolling resistance.

only bad thing about rain is punctures.

+1 for overshoes. Keep your toes warm and socks dry. Wore them to Cambridge.

Riding in bad weather is ok. Yesterday, I left my house in a downpour, rode to my trails and dug and built dirt jumps for the day. After the first downpour in stayed dry mostly untill we left at the end ( just as we were taking down the tarpolin shelter and the camping stove (tea/ coffee with digging durring the winter is awsome). I was thoughouly wet and muddy for most of the day but it wa all good fun!

Wind will put me off riding more readily than rain, unless it's an absolute downpour. Today was nasty: freezing, strong winds that just cut through you. When its windy I always try to make sure I'm riding into the wind on the way out, and getting pushed along by it on the way out. Not always a luxury you get of course, and its horrible when your legs have gone but the wind is up and in your face

To be honest rain doesn't phase me, i'd rather it was proper heavy rain as you get saturated quickly so you don't get any wetter, like the rest have said, wind is the worst, it always seems to be going in the opposite direction, hail is a bitch too, see pic below for proof. Although, nothing can ruin my ride, except a puncture/crash, i'm just too busy smiling =D

What a bunch of soft arsed commuters you are. Ooooh, my fingers got cold on the way to work, when I got home I was all wet. I don't like wind it makes those 6 miles really hard work. And my lips, oh my God I swear they were nearly chapped. Ooooooh.
Fuck off, I'm old and bitter. :)

I dont mind wind or rain seperatly but hate them together. But if it really bothered me then i wouldnt be riding. Its England so you have to HTFU.

I loved Judith Arndt's comment after being asked about the torrential rain in the women's road race in Beijing: 'We're an open air sport!' ("Wir sind ein Freiluftsport!")
She's HTFU'd.

On London's roads? My bike always ends up fucking filthy after riding the city streets in the rain.
Liverpool today for the "Tour de Scouse", we had the lot: wind, rain, hail, hills - fantastic!
Proper northern autumn day out.
