I hardly ever see fixed riders and I ride nearly every day! Quite often ride this route:
If anyone see's me around give me a wave, I normally wear a backpack, and ride a red fixie with brown drops and thick slicks.
You're not looking hard enough :) I ride that exact route each morning about 8.45-9.00
White raleigh conversion, white drops, lovely face

FOUND ALAN CYCLOCROSS
Looks like someone's taken some care over it, found it unlocked and dumped in Shoreham, anyone know who it belongs to? -

I usually ride it in the evening after work, at about 5.30, 5.45 to 6.00!
Next time I see you I'll wave, but it's almost guaranteed to be someone I don't know, and they will look at me like a mad man, but I'll give it a go!

To the owner of the white and blue gazelle who just complemented my Bianchi by st peters church, if you're on here, I am sorry. I feel like my attempt at a friendly nod was far sneerier than intended thanks to the scum in a Mondeo who saw fit to brush past me while overtaking me between one set of lights, and whose skip rat of a child then saw fit to throw a bottle at me out of the car window at the next set. I hasten to clarify: my chagrin was aimed at him, not you, and your bike was lovely!

What is with all the people I keep seeing riding fixed, brakeless with no foot retention!? I saw a guy going down towards the sea front on West Street and swerve road a heap of pedestrians using the crossings because he had no means of stopping, I don't get it. Especially given how how many hills are in Brighton
-
• #688
Yeah I don't understand it. Brakeless in Brighton is harrowing enough as it is. Especially coming down that hill from old Shoreham to Preston circus
-
• #689
I don't have a problem with brakeless but do it properly if that makes sense, if you can't ride with foot retention you shouldn't be riding fixed.

Did anyone see that red Gazelle Champion Mondiale that was locked up for ages near Waitrose on Western Road? It gradually got raped of parts until just the frame was left, then the council came and put the removal notice on it and it went a couple of days later in the night. I was fucking gutted, it was beautiful, but I couldn't crack the lock... Ahem.
I even left a note on it for the guy before it was robbed of everything, saying that if he wanted to sell it ever then I'd have it. He wrote back saying no but thanks. When I wrote back, post-vultures, to enquire if I could have the frame, he never replied.
I hope its gone to a good home and not just been carted off by the council landfill team.
yeah he has done a nice job on it, i just cant wait to get it finished, had loads of set backs with this bike, should be ready soon though. will be pearl white with chrome forks, black vsprint miche wheels and some other bits
