I am in violent agreement with every word of this and particularly with any loud criticism of ITV studio coverage.

I've already seen WhatsApp group messages where they're convinced this has gilded their path to lifting the cup.

Sadly, I can believe it. However almost the opposite in any chat I’m witness to. Several of mine have predicted England will lose to Samoa (I think this is a distinct possibility with some of the quality they have and the physicality that England can’t match) and then that’ll be England, Samoa and Argentina on one loss, with England going out because they couldn’t buy a bonus point with this side. I don’t think this is much of a stretch either.

The itv punditry for that England game was woeful. Had to mute it immediately at half time and full time - and then explain to my 10 year old daughter why. Sadly, I can’t see them doing anything different through the tournament. England going out will probably improve the coverage! Can we have more Sam Warburton. He’s excellent.

I can't comment about the itv commentary but I watched the game with French commentary and it was gushing with praise for George Ford and his management of the game.

Argentina mentally imploded but it felt like it was more to do with how England played that forced it rather than them just shitting the bed. This was probably the first match that I've been happy with how we've played since the last world cup. (it's been a rough few years)
