  • Any predictions on this weekends Heineken cup matches? Gloucester vs Quinns ought to be good, it'll be interesting to see if the Scottish teams can win again, not too optimistic though

Glasgow will struggle in Dublin but Edinburgh might just sneak it against Racing Metro. The frenchies are a good team but as with their compatriots, they might not turn up if it's cold in Edinburgh.

I'll be keeping a beady eye on Sarries away to Biarritz. With only 1 game won and currently bottom of the league, there is no better chance to pick up some points on a trip to the Basque country.

I'll be leaving for Saints v Scarlets shortly. I predict large pasty, pint of Pride, and my favourite way to spend a friday night. A win would be nice too.

  • Well well well.. nice result for Edinburgh!

  • Indeed and it's the second match running they have won by 1 point

  • Some pretty good rugby and interesting results this weekend, I am looking forward to catching up over the coming week on the games I missed. I am starting to get the impression that no-one will take the England job until Rob Andrew is gone, especially after Clive Woodward's hatchet job in the Times.

  • Great weekend of matches - on ths subject of tries, this one from Mr Cullen is right up there for me

  • But maybe this is the best . . . if only they played like this now

  • A little bit embarrassing but perhaps you were overdue a win against us at your own ground.. Has been a few years since we've let you get the better of our 1st XV ;)

  • Us? You were a Munster fan the other week.

  • Saracens is my English club. Munster is where the family is from.

  • Riiiiiight....

  • Had our clubs xmas party on Saturday (fecking messy night). I was given the 'coaches player of the year' award, which I was pretty choked about. I'm under no illusions that it was for work rate, and commitment. Rather than actual ability. Still well chuffed though.

Looking forward to half a season of 10s. Should be a good fitness test.

  • Nice work, man. Congrats!

  • +1

Well done furry.. Ability is great if you have it but it's worth nothing if you don't put in the work.

  • Cheers folks.

I quite liked the fact that a defensive, utility player, got to taste a little glory. Those of us that grew up with the sport, understand the mutual respect between those that win the ball, and those that use it. Our new guys are often seduced by watching our captin dance around the opposition defence.

We've lost a lot of our natural talents for next season. But we've gained a few work horses. IMHO the team will be better balanced for it.

  • It would appear that aggressive, fighty parents are not just limited to mini rugby: Immanol Harinordoquoy's dad runs on to the pitch to punch opposition player Hilarious

  • I'm very annoyed at how little 7s I managed to play last summer..

  • ^ the little French chap is particularly impressive. Not to mention Dan Norton

  • Interesting to see France put a run together - usually give the impression that 7's isnt exactly a priority

  • The Fijian immigrants in Norway organise a indoor 7s tournament each year. It'll be my next competitive rugby. Its a great day. But getting smashed into the astro-turf is a touch unpleasent. Everytime I walk out onto the pitch in sevens, its feels huge, and the team tiny. The nerves seems to go striaght to my legs.

Is'nt everyone doing that for the olympics?

  • Yup, but French never really feature in the later stages of the 7's circuit
