went by sloane square couple of nights ago and the xmas lights there looked 531! but that's prob too far* out west for this ride (judging from pics ^^up there)

just to confirm. pinkgotti's photos are very nice but have no bearing on the ride planned - I'd have posted this ride theme up any time of the year. It's mostly about riding late at night for me (I'd have started a fair bit later but wanted to be fair to people working (so myself too!). Of course there are some extra lights to be made the best of at the moment.

the ride is 25-30 miles round London - we ain't stayin in the east. In fact geographically I think it might be one of the most varied routes going.

In less than a day there's over thirty people on the list, which is fantastic. But I'm a bit concerned the numbers might get silly. Hopefully because of the time of riding they won't. After the Bridges ride there was a bit of discussion about rides getting too big now... maybe this ride should be capped? I'd be happy to repeat it the week after if there are a lot of people want to do it.

Let's see how it goes anyway.

I doubt this ride will spiral out of control when it comes to numbers. The fact that it's a late one on a weekday means a lot of peeps will dismiss the idea altogether. But hey, peeps here do love riding their bikes so who knows!

If the roads were car, glass and nail free I wouldn't mind how many people wanted to come, but safety and time has to be considered I think. And stealth. I think I imagined stealth in the mix somewhere....;)

GuerillaPhoto you would be better off parking local to Brick Lane/Shoreditch
(where we are starting and finishing) as there are no permit/pay and display restrictions after 6:30pm and they don't kick back in again until 9:30am in the morning, there are loads of places to park and then its less of a ride back after the ride is done. I work about a 1 minutes walk from Brick Lane so if anyone wants to go for a couple of some pre-ride dinner early on and some beers let me know, as I'll be dossing around the area before hand for a bit.

Ah yes, I hadn't thought about punctures. I imagine the roads will be fairly quite though. And I'm liking this stealth idea! Now where's that "how to" picture of the t-shirt ninja thing...
