• Ah, you should have seen it when it was still up (Linscott Road, E5). It was beautiful and uplifting--admittedly, this photo isn't very good but I couldn't find a better one. Perhaps I'll do an edit later to replace it. It was a combination of location, the building (very tall--standing in front of it makes it all grand and awesome), the white lettering and the message. Planning permission ran out, the building was redeveloped, and despite early mutterings they never restored it. :(

Work no. 203 by Martin Creed.

The imposing block of flats to the right gives it a certain miserablist air of post-constructivism, a real bloc-esque 'futility of mortality' feel.

• exactly - a great photo, a great location..

• Yeah, or that.

• Thoughts going out to henry, I hope he's OK.

It sounds like a loooong night, were you really riding for 6 or more hours?

And if anyone wants to give away the route now, I'd be most interested...

frankly... I'd be happy to do it again.....

• Yeah, or that.

you calling me a miserablist or just a bloc-head?

• you calling me a miserablist or just a bloc-head?

I'm not sure, shall we have a bloc party to work it out?

• where are the yellow squares? they are lovely

Broadgate. Near to Liverpool St. station. They cycle through all different colours and patterns each night.. while I sit above, dropping acid and posting on here.

• ...
I'm just imagining the increased productivity of everyones work place if this forum didn't exist.

• Nice one guys ! What a stunning ride.

Henry (eybrows) I can't tell you how happy and relieved i was to see you get up and stand after your spill, i thought to myself that you'll be ok after that, thank god. Concussion scrapes and such but ok. Hope you get back to 100% soon, and pleased to know your new, and seriously nice bike is also ok, cos it would be a bummer if it wasn't.

There are just too many lovely moments to list all, but highlights for me are when about 5 of us split from the main group (pelloton?) and fell behind drastically on the Southbank past London bridge...we were talking so much, (bernie, John, Stix and Spencer(i think i got ur names right :) ) that we totally forgot we were in a ride..
Also, when we were waiting for some punctures to be fixed, in a residential area having gone through the park after the blue tron moment (blue tron moment such be patented IMO).... Cornelius Bellowing BUUUUSSSSSSSS!!!!! even though were not riding anywhere ! Made me chuckle a fair bit !
and Bernie for offering 2 stunning americans near Regents street, who were waving for a taxi, a place on the handlebars to "wherever they wish" hahah....good laughs :D
Gatorman and Charco... was nice to meet you. Others i've forgotton their name, some other time :D

All in all it was just glorius to be surrounded by such nice interesting people, who all, bar none wanted a good time. The camaraderie was palpable.
Phil (Pajamas) was nice to meet you and Thanks a million

He, he, interestingly enough apparently the residents of that block also put in objections to continuing the planning permission on the grounds of light pollution and routinely pulled the plug on it ('twas easy if you climbed over the fence, but 'twas just as easy to plug it back in ;) cue warm glowy feeling of satisfaction). Their objection was probably more grounded in the fact that it was a brilliant place to sit and shoot the breeze on a warm summer's evening. It lasted a few years.

• I think my favorite bits were the pier, I just love seeing loads of people together, got the same warm feeling i always get of fgss rides;
the southies splinter group around the Eye, with our crack team sniffing out the main group
and the sound o birds singing towards the end of the ride (and on the way back from the hospital- even though tom wanted to catch the tube ;P

and the fast bits, and the ridiculously intricate- am I going to fall in the river and look like a tit bits.

• Hey guys, I took some pics on my phone, but the cam is pretty shitty. You can check them out here.

• What a brilliant ride! There's not much to say hat hasn't already been covered. It was my first forum ride, but Henry and Tom made me feel pretty welcome from the off. Met loads of nice people, the puncture stops were a good excuse to get to know everyone. As Dylan has mentioned falling behind with; Stixs, John and Bernie was great fun, we were so busy nattering away we sort of lost concentration. The sprint back to the bagel shop was also great fun. I can't remember the names of the two guys I was with? Really friendly though. ( thanks Mooks for the skidding tips!)

Relieved that your alright Henry, I was so worried when I saw the ambulance! Hopefully won't affect your skiing style.

Thanks again to everybody, especially Pajamas who did a grand job!

Cheers, Will

P.S. Hippy, were you in an American pork restaurant yesterday evening? Thought I recognized you from the photos on the forum?

• Is the video from the tunnel run up yet? I'd love to see that.

• Pajamas - thanks so much for another great ride, even sans christmas lights. Still really stoked and had an awesome time.

Super glad to see that Henry's alright. Had a bit of a sense of foreboding when following the ambulance to the scene. You deserve a pint from me for H'ing TF,rightU.

Great to meet everyone and thanks for making it a good time.

•
Cycling is the most fun with your pajamas on.
fixed! :)
That too, I'm sure. :)

• @spencerwells:
it was really nice to meet you.
hope you get safely back to the winter wonderland.

• Well done Pajamas an amazing ride, even if I couldn't stay till the end. The attention to detail was unbelievable.

Sorry to hear about the accident with the cops at the end, get well soon Henry.

Good to meet everyone.

@wools:
How did you track the route? Was it your phone, if so which one? That looks like a piece of gadgetry I seriously need.

• Great ride, thanks 'jamas for the enlightening experience! When are you doing that route again? Bad luck Henry, hope you heal up good. That pig needs to loose his job etc... these 'people' are meant to protect us, not kill us for jumping a red light!?! Thanks to everyone for making it such a nice ride, 'specially those that stayed till the end.

• Just copied my pictures onto CDs so will be bringing them to South Drinks tomorrow night. If anyone has a computer with them, then the whole crew can "Ohh" and "Ahh" at my lack of photogaphic skills, before passing them on to someone with the requisite savvy to make them available to the whole forum.

good work !

• Just one last thing, can anyone who saw the crash and wouldn't mind being a witness (if it comes to that), or has any details/photos, please PM me.

thanks!
