I'm not sure why you feel the need to articulate this when I'm sure others have thought the same thing Murtle.

In the thread I've written more than one post about it explaining my concerns. I would hope people would respect the fact that, for this particular ride, fifty is more than enough. I also said I was quite happy to do it again the week after if there were a lot of people wanting to do it. I'd be happy to do it if it was another fifty or just a handful.

The list grew so fast compared to other ones and I hadn't anticpated more than thirty riders when I planned the ride. It's not exactly mile after mile of main road for a lot of it. I'm not sure why you have a problem with it when you don't even want to come though.

Not sure why you've decided to try and put a spanner in the works here Murtle. Noone else seems to have been up in arms about this and you aren't even interested in the ride.

Great stuff, ride is now closed. Fifty is probably right at the top end of what should feasibly be going on at this time of night..so I think that's enough people for this date. Happy to do it again for others who might be interested at a later date but for this first one we've already reached maximum for the ride.

I think I'm allowed to decide how many riders I feel a ride I've planned is suitable for, whether it's forum or not. You might be happy organising a ride on which all 5100 members turn up but I'm not, and in two days of putting it up fifty people had signed up for it. I had put up a preliminary poll to see who'd be up for a late ride and was looking at 31 riders from that originally.
