  • Hello all,

I need to make space for a new build so I'm selling my On One Pompino, offers around £225 (is that reasonable? Please let me know if not, or make me a sensible offer).

It is two years old, clean and well looked after, serviced within the past month including new bottom bracket, chain, rear sprocket.

Size large 54cm. I'm 5'9'' and it fits perfectly. The On One website says a "large" fits 5'9'' to 6'1''.

    • 44 x 16 fixed gear, no flip flop
    • Truativ cranks
    • Avid 20/25 V brakes
    • new-ish Easton riser bars
    • Vittoria Rubino 28 tyres
    • PlanetX rims laced onto On-One hubs
    • SKS mudguards

This bike is a fantastic ride and in great condition.

    Sold without pedals or saddle.

I'm in London - either Battersea in the evenings or Covent Garden during the day and you're welcome to come and view.

    Thank you.

  • would still like to know the story behind a bike getting named Blowjob.

  • Probably something along the lines of: they wanted to make the tubing feel stiff, but at the same time velvety and luxurious, and have gaping clearances to accomodate extra width if necessary.

And, it's like, all Italian, and shit.

  • It's rude innit. Everyone can has is chuckle. Case closed.

  • word!

  • It'd be great to see a Giant Blowjob.

Or a Specialized one I suppose.

  • Or a Trek one, for the more outdoorsy types.

  • be nice to see a Wilier Felate on the market.

  • How about a Kona Deepthroat?

  • A Fort Long And Hard?

  • Too clever for me; I give up.

  • I think you just got bored..

sorry 1972, bit of a derailment there..

  • Pajamas - no problem!

Sunday price drop - 10% off - now only £225!

  • Hey all,

A quick question to the forum - even if you're not interested in this sale, do you think it's over-priced?

The reason I ask, is that I haven't had a tickle of buying interest yet and it would be good to hear what you think. Maybe it's not the price and just credit crunch...

I thought I was being quite reasonable with the price, and I did the research and other Pompinos have sold on this and other forums for similar or pro rata amounts, depending on condition.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I don't think your price is unreasonable. It could be a difficult time to sell stuff what with Christmas fast approaching and people worried about their jobs.

If I were you I'd stick on ebay at a low price and then let the market decide. In my recent selling experience ebay bidders seem to have failed to notice the recession.

  • partly harvest crunch and partly the fact it's not a hipster bike is why you've had little interest on this forum

  • looks like it's in good nick and the price is definitely reasonable.

if I were you I'd consider keeping it as a workhorse though. You can thrash them all over London and even when the frame splits in two you can hold the bike together with a couple of jubilee clips and some skateboard stickers.

  • All good advice, thank you.

@andyp - I may well resort to Ebay, good idea, but I still have hope I'll find a buyer here...

@RPM - this definitely isn't a hipster bike, but you'd struggle to find a more reliable London workhorse!

@ pajamas - I should keep it I know. I love it. But four bikes is too many. At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself.

    Fingers crossed.

  • when the frame splits in two you can hold the bike together with a couple of jubilee clips and some skateboard stickers.

Just so you know, 1972, this quote is referring to RPM's Pompino.

  • I saw a picture of RPM's bike on Mashton's "Pompino for sale" thread from a few months back!

I've been sorely tempted to de-mudguard my Pompino, but they are too useful, even though they are ugly.

  • Price is fine. If it was bigger and I'd seen this earlier I might have got it myself.

  • I still have my frame in the shed!

  • PM sent, friend is after something!

  • @Dogsballs - it's on hold for you, I've replied to your pm.

Thanks everyone - for looking, for the advice and to Dogsballs for (hopefully) buying it!

  • did this ever sell?

if not let me know as v interested
