  • @whiteleg: stick your shirt in a plastic bag - stops it creasing up too much - same goes for anything else you iron

Even better, roll your shirt up rather than folding it. No creases FTW.

  • But Waitrose is attracting foul-mouthed junglist producers from the home counties now, and it's putting me off, quite frankly.

  • I had stuffed vine leaves once, fucking nice. I didn't know you could get them in supermarkets, how urbane.

I still haven't had sushi, though, I've been meaning to for about 20 years

don't buy sushi from a supermarket, not the best way to try it.

And put it - along with trousers, don't forget them - in your bag's laptop sleeve. Makes a nice mini press for your smarter clothes

i'm not foul mouthed, you womans cunt, nor do i produce junglists, and i'll thank you not to suggest otherwise. these are impressionable people and volatile times.

  • yeh! fucktard!

well no, I hadn't planned to.

I'll have to go to that Soho, I suppose, and put up with the aching, despairing, desperate hipsterdom

This place is great, have eaten there several times. Very good quality of food (preparation/freshness).

    and what's wrong with that?

  • yeh! fucktard!

  • and what's wrong with that?

    It's a diss by association.

    (repeat ad nauseum)

  • that'th eathy for you to thay

  • lispist

  • ...

  • I've got a 4x4
Ocado deliver my groceries and Abel & Cole my veg
    I like to wank

  • we all like a wank, Ant, we all like a wank.

  • we all like a wank, Ant, we all like a wank.

one of Chas N' Dave's lesser known numbers, that one.

  • i ride about 2 hours every week day, and like 4 hours on most saturdays and sundays. FUCK COURSEWORK

  • i never thought of the drycleaners idea. at the moment i'm doing as hippy suggests above but ferrying shirts backwards and forwards every day. it's annoying to have to iron shirts then pack them in a bag where they get all crumpled anyway. actually it's annoying to have to iron shirts full stop. especially as i can never get it togther to have them ready for the week i usually end up ironing shirts every morning while three quarters asleep. i've love to not have to do that anymore.

I don't own an iron. Dry cleaning ftw. Just find the cheapest place near your work and then see if you can charge you company for it or steal some pens to make up the cost or some shit :)

Put it this way.. ironing is fucked. £2 per shirt is less fucked things in your life = money well spent.

  • whiteleg: Can you not store your clothes at work?
I take my shirts off tramps near the office and transport them back to the office when needed.
    Undies and socks changed monthly.

    .

  • you will die for this

I will die for something but I doubt very much it will be this.

  • Clothes are my main problem (10 miles each way), jacket on back of seat, trousers in a draw (try to keep three pairs at work to avoid the forgetting to bring some in) shirts on suit bag in corner of office... I've ten shirts so need to bring ironned one's in once a fortnight (well I've got 12, but two shirts are crappy emergancy shirts!)... used to get the tube (also worked as a break when I wasn't used to the commute) but now I just gaffer tape them to my back pack!

But worse than all that is going out after work... either be the freak in lycra or cycle home in a suit and then have to bring it back the day after...

    My system:

I've got maybe a dozen shirts hanging up in the office.
These get dry cleaned near the office as and when required.

Trousers are non-iron jobbies. I throw them in the machine at home, hang them up to dry, roll them up and carry them in when required.

    Shoes stay in the office.

Socks and jocks are in a bag carried in daily

Towel stays at work under desk and I swap each week.

Ride to work in cycling kit getting as filthy as I can, grab work clothes, shower, work, change back into cycling kit (which sits in bag or bucket under desk) ride home.

Going out I just add jeans, t-shirt, maybe sneakers to my socks and jocks.. or just go casual for the day..

  • Balls. It's better than fuck all exercise (sitting on the tube) and if you push yourself it's a good 50mins-1hr of exercise everyday.
How can that not make a difference?

Yeah, stop riding for a month and then start again and see if you don't notice it being harder than it was. My money is on the fact it will be.

Also, you probably just eat more now, overcompensating for the 14mi/day, that's why you weigh the same. Another option and this is what happens to me is that your weight is very similar but you are carrying less body fat and more muscle. Weight means fuck all if you don't take into account body composition, body fat, etc. When trained, I look a lot leaner (relative you fucks!) than when I'm slacking off (like the last 3 months) and yet my weight only varies by a couple of kilo (fuck all when you're 95kg).

  • My system:

I've got one shirt hanging up in the office.
It gets pissed on by everyone in the office as and when required.

Trousers are non-iron jobbies. I throw up in the machine at home, hang them up to dry, roll them up and carry them in when required.

    Shoes stay in the skip.

Socks and jocks are in a bag carried in yearly

Towel stays at work under my big arse and I swab each week.

Ride to work in cycling kit getting as filthy as I can, grab work clothes, shower, wank, change back into cycling kit (which sits in a portable urinal) ride home.

Going out I just add jeans, t-shirt, maybe sneakers to my socks and jocks.. or just go naked for the day..
