  • Cheers Craig. I thought you had wheel building minions and were keeping the 24 hole 650s all for them...

  • Uhm... just wondering, are decals removable on that Carbon-frame, or are they under the clear-coat?

very much under the clear coat

Oh, and you ship to Denmark right?

    yes

And how will that carbon-frame deal with heavy riders? (95kg)

as your not jumping on it you'll be fine. we had huge ex rugby players riding them. theyre huge, like gigantic babymen

And does it really only accept 21mm tires? From photos it looks like 23mm should work without problems, at least in the front.. ?

from neo-ice's photo gallery on fixedgearfever

    check the reviews:

  • I'm not going to jump on a frame like that.. but it should be okay for riding around town right? Copenhagen has a bit of cobblestone, would that be okay you think?

Okay, that front end looks really tight.. how about the rear? is that max 21mm too? looks like it would be okay with 23mm there.

Its really tempting :) looks like a nice bike for summer 2009 :)

  • haj - please check you pm

the track forks supplied are designed to be run with 21mm tyres as it says in description
there are no tubs supplied with cheaper complete option as it says in the description

  • Just looked at the C18 sale.

Now I've got a terrible craving for a Stealth pro TT bike.

I have no reason to own one though. Maybe I could buy some speedos at the same time and tell 'er indoors' I'm training to be a triathliete.

  • so more sharing of information...

as most of you are aware i'm a newbie px'er, and finding the site a bit of a minefield - actinic has its pro's and cons'... found the cons yesterday...

    ANYWAY... here's the links

    these are now finally online:

    cheaper clips and straps

    http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Planet_X.html

i know its not much, but its a start... i'm aiming to get something like this done at least once a month, and try to get some better discount going... y'all be first to know

there's an option to sign up for a newletter... we're working on getting discounts sorted out for people that sign up. and a discount code for ldnfgss members... its all in the pipeline... might take a coupla weeks but it will happen

thanks to everyone thats had questions and feedback this last week. all your points have been duly noted and hopefully i've been able to help

    have a good weekend!

  • so are the £899 road bikes basically sold out? the site is a little confusing

  • They usually have stock levels on each item..

  • wait until monday for update on site. we dont work 24/7...

  • sorry didn't mean to sound mardy, just got myself a bit confused over whether the stock levels for each item were more up to date than the news page on the planet x site.

    You snooze you lose!

  • Cheers Mr Nasty.. my wheels arrived today. Probably better than I expected.

Spin well, nipples don't look alloy to me, hollow axles, good nuts, pretty good/even spoke tension, sexyhipsterredplanetx rim tape :)

  • thanks for the feedback hip.

ok, i'm trying to get discount codes etc set up for forum members... if you want to make use of this (unless i leak the code to you next week) you'll need to sign up to the mailing list theyve set up for me...

as i've said before, its early days for me there right now, once i've got my foot in the door a bit more i'll be in a position to make the discounts better

your mission - should any of you decide to accept it, will be to find out where my signup is and register... search on craig nasty in planet x site... or just go to:

y'all get more info when its done... i'll be giving you lot a heads up first when its in place

    patience grasshoppers...

hip - you've not missed out and thats the nicest thing anyones said to me all week so far... thanks!

  • I agree with hippy on this, it's a bit late for the discount codes ;) why not 10 days ago (or when did I order?)

  • "getting voucher discount codes etc will only apply to certain products"

    ok. shall i rephrase this???

the discount code will apply to SELECTED items - which you'll be told about in the future, either on the mailing list or on this forum

why is it too late for codes??? you think i should have got that sorted out before i worked there? any idea how how busy they get in the frenzy that is planet x???

c'mon haj, dont be like that... dont tell me youre NEVER gonna buy anything else for your bike(s) - y'know you'll want more...

jeez... try to help folk out... and thats the thanks you get, i dunno... (wanders away, muttering...)

  • craignasty: It has way to many "Planet-X"-decals already ;) I need to balance it out with brand parts ;) anyway I'm just kidding.

  • Call them 'Special Promotions'..
Discount codes implies that they are for any purchases.
    Good work Craig.
Any idea what happened to the touted lugged track-ended frame?
It had some fancy classic name and there were pics of a production sample on the blog before the move to the new site. Seemed like a good idea to me.
EDIT - found it... Lincolnshire poacher: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread1295.html

  • haj: we got nitto, kashimax, mks... there's some other brands for ya ;). wont take your comments it personally... hows the ride btw???

i got busted for stickering up my px frame - although i appreciate an emplyee should be promoting the co' they work for, i guess the guys that work there havnt streetlocked or had bikes robbed for a whiles- theyre too busy training (do i feel guilty when i have a smoke break)... or have fellow train using cyclists gouging chunks outta their frame...

Didn't check it out yet, got it shipped to my moms house and I don't think I'll be using it before next year anyway :) the plan is to equip it with a rear disc and some kind of carbon front, and use it for good weather commuting.

I will go to check it out and perhaps start assembling it this weekend though.

Btw, I don't think nitto, kashimax or mks makes anything I'll want to put on that bike :) I was thinking more in the lines of a carbon TT-bar (Easton EC90, Profile Carbon X, FSA Vision), Selle Italia SLR, and Time Atacs (want the pedal-system to be compatible with my other bikes).

  • old school cycling caps on anyone's christmas list??? got these in monday... and available here:

    http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Retro_Campagnolo_Caps.html

the campy ones are slightly heavier weight cotton than the trade team ones. the bianchi one is the lightest weight

i've not seen the salmon pink or purple campy for sale in the uk before... prendas have got black and fuschia if you want to do the rainbow...

and before the moaners moan, there is a minimum of £9 per order - just found that out myself...

the special promotion (thankyou proven) code is being sorted out today for those of you that signed up to the mailing list - there'll be information sent to you on the w/e if all goes according to plan... but then again this IS me learning how to do it...

  • Hi Craig - Many thanks for dealing on the Vigorelli- the One-One wheels were far better than I had imagined, frame great.

Its just that saddle disappears up the crack of my ample bum...... :-((( I was thinking of selling it on to a Dominatrix woman I know of.........

  • el diablo - hold onto that saddle!!! i'll pm you 'bout it... i'm keen for MORE pain!!!
