  • It's a done deal! History has been made and the last 8 years is finally over! Free at last! Yes we can!!

  • The alternative was unimaginably horrendous, an unusual victory for common sense, Time to applaud the voters.

  • I shall ride around today in glee.

  • Just an awesome result, so happy tonight. Cycle home (with my mate bob on the back) was a little shakey (lots of bourbon tonight). But i'm home and ready for bed. Lets see what he can do for the US!

  • Does he ride fixed or single speed?

  • Neither - he has a really big plane.

  • The inauguration isn't until late January or February? so he's not quite president yet just guaranteed himself the spot. Look at the exit polls, all the people with guns didn't vote for Obama , I'd recon he'll need some heavy security.

Bushs' ratings are 1 point lower then Nixions' the day before he resigned at the moment and it was a case of anyone but them.

not relevent but a chance to show chappelle:

  • Hallelujah! :D

  • Fucking great news!

  • What a great thing to wake up to on the radio, I'll be rolling with my obama spoke card today with glee!

  • True dawn of the 21st. century.

  • Anyone catch that speech??!!

    An extract:

*"...above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to – it belongs to you.

...It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation’s apathy... and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didn’t do this just to win an election and I know you didn’t do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime – two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century

...The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there."*

    Wow...

  • It's a great speech... Goose bump time...

  • can i get a " FUCK YEAH "?

    WWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gasp OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Indeed. Too bad the US economy is on it knees, and he'll probably carry the can for it....

  • I've been crying.

  • did anybody else wake up and think it was christmas?

    i'm so fucking happy.

  • This is avery good thing but, like many good things in the past, it is not everything. Don't get your hopes too high or you will be sorely disappointed.

  • quote * Neither - he has a really big plane.

But his plane has no gears or rear brake

What I'm getting from Obama is that we work together - I think we get disappointed if we expect things to be done for us, but if we're encouraged to work together (I mean if we're even open enough to hear that), with eyes open to the challenges, then that to me is a great thing.

Anyway, I hear you, it's not even begun yet. I hope no-one takes him out, he's a galvaniser of hope.

  • Indeed. Too bad the US economy is on it knees, and he'll probably carry the can for it....
It is not possible that Obama carries the can for the economy. The Republicans have carried that can, and that is principally why they lost.

Change is good, and this change is magnificent.

I used to live in the States, and I have met some of the nicest people I've ever known there. But in the past neo-con years, I had ceased to see America in that previously positive light. This changes everything.

History. And we have all witnessed it.

  • Right, so now what happens?

  • The Australians elect an aboriginal Prime Minister?

  • Do the Aussies still kiss Obama's arse or does that agreement end when Bush fscks off?
