Inverse shims are campy whereas negative shims are NJS.

Did exactly the same when I first got my IRO start of last summer. Negative shim from BLB £1.50 will see you fine. Tell Jan in there Ben sent you and he'll probably let you have a used one for free.

I don't want to seem unappreciative, but how can you get a negative shim? The diameter of the clamping area on my Mono Lever can only clamp around a smaller diameter than my bars. A shim can't reduce the diameter of my bars... Any chance someone has a photo of said shim, or a link to one?

bar clamp diameters:

bmx =22.2mm
road =26mm (some older cinelli are 26.4)
mtb =25.4mm (also some Nitto road and track bars)
OS =31.8 (deda say 31.7 but it's the same damn thing)

All bars should be 22.2 and come with shims to take you up to 25.4 or 26. Then you could mount your lever wherever the hell you like. It should be made law.
PLUS, as I know you can actually get that, they shoud also make shims up to stupid fucking 31.8 for all those cunting manufacturers that have stopped making anything but over sized stems, CUNTS!
Although if i'm making up laws 31.8 would be banned.

also try and smooth out the curve on your brake cable it will work better.

Thanks for the advice, shortened the cable so it didn't have a massive curve in it and it works much better. I haven't worked on brakes for many a year!
