There's a guy who rides single speed from Whitefield way i pass opposite on the bury road quite often - wears wooly hat in the morning and just jean shorts and t-shirt in evening.

Clothes plus hat in morning ;) It's quite a climb out to Whitefield (3 parts to it) so shorts and t-shirt could feel about right if working hard, but it'd get cold on the downs for sure.
