• POLO TONIGHT!

Just a reminder for tonight. The more people down, the more we get to split the cost.

Beer at the maypole after perhaps?

• reminder to lee, what to see frame pweease :)

• re: money, I think it will be best if we simply pay per play (where court hire is involved), at the rate of £2 per day. If you turn up, bring your money! all the money will go in a big melting pot to fund court/flood light hire, mallet construction, spoke replacement, polo bike r&d, 40t rear sprocket construction and wind tunnel testing of homemade wheel discs.

in the mean time, i will talk to the newmarket road court people, and try and negotiate a deal based on the fact we are helping out needy angry cambridge kids ;)

jk!

• cunning. wind tunnels eh? hahahhahahahahahaha
sounds like a plan

• I thought it was great this evening . Thanks Bogey . Lets book the court for the next 50 years :) (Angelo's paying)

• Cunning Wind tunnels ? Is that fanny farts wearing slacks ?

• it was my pleasure rv, i was really pleased to see such a good turn out!

i just hope paying subs doesnt put people off playing altogether. it is money going straight back into our little community of polo players current and future, and giving back a little something to the council (for forking out for a great court perfect for us) and locals (putting up with our effing and blinding), its not like we're losing out. if anything, showing willing to the right people will build up rapport and support, rather than bad feeling and negativity :)

any way. discussion on thursday i reckon

• How about attracting some people like this to polo??

Juliet - Fixed Gear London

• good thinking

• By not making it a sexist male club.

• methinks "Evil Cambridge Cunts" isn't going to attract a lot of female attention (unless it's bile and vitriol)

• I think that name is going to be put to rest..... (Ricks fault anyway)

• actually i had the same conversation with Rick today
That name, as original as it is :), might have to go

Rick was saying that if he has a possibility of making some team polo T'ees that he isnt much keen on it saying CUNTS all over. So he did suggest that we give it a proper name or something rather than some silly gag you two came up with over some beers

• just go with evil cambridge and drop the cunts.

• just go with evil cambridge and drop the cunts.

naah....doesnt quite sound as good

we could put a * in for the "u"
so like CAMBRIDGE EVIL C*NTS

• Saintly cambridge Pricks ?

• Cambridge
Under
Nourished
Twat
Sprockets

yeah, clutching at threads towards the end...

• name doesn't matter, all that matters is the game.

*"cambridge bicycle polo club"*

easy does it, nice and simple, print worthy, wholesome for kids and parents, won't offend OAPs, sounds offishal.
Lee will be upset he's going to have to re-do his wheel disc though :)

• Hey Bogey. I agree that we need a new subtler name for the polo club. CBPC sounds good or we could be the 'CAMBRIDGE CAVALIERS BPC' ? I certainly don't like 'Saintly Cambridge Pricks' WTF.

• I reckon you should get the word 'hardcourt' in there cos it sounds, er, hard! also you don't want people to think we do this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx4LnFXcD5s"]YouTube
- Bike Polo Competition Dublin 2006[/ame]

• although that does look pretty good!

• cambridge hardcourt polo bicycle club

sounds good to me! not sure about 'cavaliers' though, people would think we drive 90's british cars, wear uniforms and attend role playing historical events in fields.

i think we should make it simple and impersonal to cover 'the whole polo thing', leaving our ruder lewder cruder naming for our individual teams for this summers mini league, where we won't be expecting any particular attention from society. It would be our own little 'in joke'.

The faces of the public walking past Lee's wheel disc a few saturdays back were classic. I think he managed to scar the memories of alot of people. Children asking their parents "what does that mean daddy?" is a bit, erm, 'not cricket'.

• I think people are OVERthinking this one :)

• I think people are OVERthinking this one :)

it's the british way!

• ... not sure about 'cavaliers' though, people would think we sit around twirling our moustaches.

erm....
