But oil is from the earth, it's my post man that's not.
I'll see what I can do. I've got a friend visiting London soon and I'll see if he wouldn't mind schleping a few. How many do we need?

I have just had it on good authority of a pile of "to let" and "for sale" signs dumped near my work. I shall be picking them up after work, although apparently they are well dumped, as in not very accessible below a bridge. If you do not hear from me, tell my mother i love her...
street cleaners were a little bit too hasty for me, all gone, oh well!

I've been making some new Mallets , if there's enough interest we could have another mallet making workshop sometime especially if you have all the materials and beer :)The nice thing is i have a drill press which puts a hole in straight and easily, loads of different size drills and i can face the ends dead flush on the lathe
materials needed:
Waterpipe, skipole,6mm bolt+ nylock nut,and fabic tape from a sports shop , i have some of my own but i'm running out so if you can garner it for yourself so much the better.
New Mallets...........63mm pipe

Yeah, those look awesome. Is that the regular blue pipe sprayed blue?
I'm down for a group mallet building workshop. Greg and I have pipe and I can easliy pop down to Sally Ann's on Friday (payday) and buy them out of ski poles. At 50p a pop it's probably best to get them all and then everyone get's a pole plus spares.
I also have plenty of black, red, blue, white, black and GOLD spray paint.

p.s. That meant to say regular blue pipe sprayed SILVER.

• #194
Yes I've run out of Pink paint so i'm into the silver aluminium stuff that was going to refurb my transits rims
-
• #195
back in canada we call that paint 'surrey chrome'. I guess the equivalent of watford chrome.. doesnt quite have the same ring though. hm
-
• #196
Unrelated to 'Alabama Chrome' which, I believe, refers to gaffa tape repairs to car "fenders".

Silver duck tape ? The brush on type of "aloominum" paint looks very pretty when its first stirred , all swirly . I painted the floors of my last house with it was trying to do a star treky interior on a budget .
Gold will be nice for a chav-plated jewellery look. -

ive went round cambridge today in search of some good polo spots.
Anyway, as its a weekday some school ones i couldnt get to.Arbury Community Centre court - nice court, great smooth surface, but located in chavland
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.230156,0.118554&sll=52.230546,0.118543&sspn=0.00485,0.009656&ie=UTF8&ll=52.23019,0.118505&spn=0.001212,0.002414&t=h&z=19
Abbey Pool court (the one wid lights) - has shit surface and is wayy too large
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.208935,0.152752&sll=52.208839,0.153095&sspn=0.002426,0.004828&ie=UTF8&ll=52.208823,0.152752&spn=0.002426,0.004828&t=h&z=18
And this fountain/pool thing, i know its silly, but its quite cool. And its larger than you'd think, dont suppose there's any water there in dry days, just shit load of mud which needs to dry out.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.196042,0.114796&sll=52.196047,0.114911&sspn=0.001213,0.002414&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16
I didnt get in here:
Arbury School - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=52.226154,+0.131249&sll=52.225987,0.131224&sspn=0.001213,0.002414&ie=UTF8&ll=52.226084,0.13123&spn=0.001213,0.002414&t=h&z=19
but apparently it may be available for booking (i think Harvey's the man to find this out).
They're made of Oil! they seem to last quite a while. The thing is they're not the best but they are the cheapest option and deliver quickly and are ok in the winter .
But franklins are generally thought to be the ones to go for but they are hard to get without going direct to the US of A The biggest user of resources on the planet by a ratio of 5 to 1. I think they have some special gas in them or something and must be warm for summer use only but they do a glow in the dark one too!!! maybe you could get some relatives to send some as a tax free gift ????

To be a true tree hugger i suppose we should knit them from yoghurt, but i am supporting keeping the Royal Mail nationalized and against its privatization so by using their services more they're less likely to be bullied into cost effective selling off putting thousands on the dole and put pensions in jeopardy ?
I'm not either totally convinced that individuals lifestyle choices in matters of the environment are really that effective. State capitalist control is so complete that we're fucked and doomed anyway so we might as well enjoy the party.
