  • Cambridge league ftw!

  • on a more serious note, i lost a black/grey Specialized body geometry glove today.
    it may be:
    -in someones bag from polo
    -at the court
    -at BA

if anyones near the court or BA in the next few days please could you stop and have a look.

    many thanks!

  • A great turnout last night which no doubt swelled the slush fund for court hire. As discussed last there is a proposal for a two tier payment system which appeared to be agreed upon. This is as follows: Up to 9 players = £3 subs each, Over 9 players = £2 subs each. This is to reflect the reduced playing time available when the numbers are higher. This payment system will also allow monies to be carried over if/when numbers go down during the colder months.
If anyone has a major issue with this please let me or types know.
Anyway hopefully the turnout will remain high in the coming weeks.

  • Sounds good to me.
Im going to have some more time on my hands next week so im going court hunting, has anyone got any ideas of any courts? or seen some in there travels,if so let me know an il look in to it them.I think we should clear wills workshop out that would make a sweet polo court

  • the chesterton court sounded interesting, let us know how that one goes jim

loving the fen boy three, destroyers of hard and soft courts alike.

yeah check out the one in chesterton HERE.

I think it's a school court, but I'm sure we can talk to them about using it or something. All the "open to public" courts are pretty rubbish otherwise.

However, i actually did find ONE good court. The surface is great, the size is great, it has 4 floodlights and little goal areas too. HERE:

But to get to it I had to climb over a fence (not a great idea to do that weekly), there is cctv there to watch you too. Its located in some kind of primary school, so I assume its not being used on weekends. I presume we can arrange some sort of hiring and floodlighting if matters come to worst. But as far as using a free court I think what we're using at the moment is the best choice. Here is the Chesterton Primary School's little playground.

  • it looks to good to be ture ,thanks eddie i'l look into it,its my old junior school, st andrews school so hopefully could have some luck with it !

  • just a note, it would be worth keeping an eye out for undeground parking and other dry spots to play with ourselves

  • for undeground parking and other dry spots

yes a car park to play is what iv been rubbing myself off over

  • I've found a supplier of bamboo poles, 20-30mm and 30-40mm thick canes 8ft long (so makes two mallets), for £1 each.

I'm building the bamboo polo mallet for sunday, if it works then i'll buy some more for anyone that needs some. First impressions, it's light, flexy, but feels strong. I do have some reservations though. We will see.

  • "Photo of an American Bald Eagle is superimposed over a photo of an American Flag."

Someone cut in (badly) a few shots from the cambridge polo scene in the new BP book. Lots of London and Californian scenes in the photos too.

  • Is it possible to cancel the lights at short notice if the weather is dicky ?

The latest I think is reasonable to cancel is about midday, so if you suspect bad weather give me a tinkle and i'll sort it.
