  • John Pique said Snow + Rock in Clerkenwell is closing down and has cheap poles...

i thought he said they were closing down and didn't have any stock left?

  • Try these guys - they rent out kit, so may well have some old poles lying around - best bet probably fulham store

    http://www.47degrees.com/shops/

  • I'll swing by there this evening after work since its on the way and will report back. If there are any bargains I'll grab them for you lot.

  • Cheers Tom, if there's a choice 7075 aluminium would be preferable to the 5083 variety.
If not then anything will do at the moment.

  • Ellis Brigham is pretty expensive.
Snow + Rock Covent Garden is round the corner and has some downstairs.

It could get pricey. Might be worth a Decathlon visit.

    How many you need?

What about that piping in the hardware stores that ray spoke about?

  • decathlon....

10min form the school, will swing by in 1h

    how many do you need?

  • i want 2 please reek.

  • ...

What about that piping in the hardware stores that ray spoke about?

It's shite, and tubing straight from aluminum suppliers isn't any cheaper than the average second hand ski poles on ebay. Unless you did a large order of course...

  • I will get the price per pole in decathlon, and in some how try to putting in here (Gabes??)
if anybody else want more, send me a txt to my movile, number is in both telephone threads

  • yeah, called snow and rock, only covent garden branch has them in stock, i can't be fucked going all the way there now.

  • rik's been to decathlon, nothing left there. so don't bother going.

  • Shit.

  • I just gave 47degrees a call and they don't rent poles (so have no ex-rental ones for sale). Their new poles start at 30.

  • here you go. pair of poles £15 in old street.

  • has anyone called the rubber ski resorts in essex?

  • Try these guys - they are by Gatwick

    http://www.edge2edge.co.uk/contact.html

Lots of poles on the website from 16 quid a pair

  • I have one spare pole - nothing special but perfectly functional. So if anyone is suffering under the ski pole crunch they can have it.

  • Managed to pick some up yesterday so Gabes and I are now sorted. Thanks for the input all.

    £25 a pair though. Ouch.

  • wow nuts. I will try to bring my FREE 70 ski poles on sat.

  • cool yorgo, I can get a fair few in my car, I will bring a hacksaw so we can cut the tips off to fit more in!

  • bring a drill so we can replace the expensive one that em, breaks in the first ten minutes.

  • hey Yorgo
if you did manage to bring many of these poles back with you
and there are still some spare would be really cool if could get a couple

  • oookay. so i got a tip off that morrisons were doing well cheap walking poles. £4 each! i went a grabbed a few this morning on my way past. not bad, nice grip, telescopic (but robust) but they weigh 34g. feels like all the weight is in the handle so they feel light. going to give them a try. just fyi.

  • telescopic = fail

    eh, tomasito?

  • they take my weight, feel nice and strong. going to give them a bash tho, £4 says its worth it. :)
