Cheers Tom, if there's a choice 7075 aluminium would be preferable to the 5083 variety.
If not then anything will do at the moment. -

Ellis Brigham is pretty expensive.
Snow + Rock Covent Garden is round the corner and has some downstairs.It could get pricey. Might be worth a Decathlon visit.
How many you need?
What about that piping in the hardware stores that ray spoke about?

It's shite, and tubing straight from aluminum suppliers isn't any cheaper than the average second hand ski poles on ebay. Unless you did a large order of course...

I have one spare pole - nothing special but perfectly functional. So if anyone is suffering under the ski pole crunch they can have it.

oookay. so i got a tip off that morrisons were doing well cheap walking poles. £4 each! i went a grabbed a few this morning on my way past. not bad, nice grip, telescopic (but robust) but they weigh 34g. feels like all the weight is in the handle so they feel light. going to give them a try. just fyi.
-
• #174
telescopic = fail
eh, tomasito?

• #175
they take my weight, feel nice and strong. going to give them a bash tho, £4 says its worth it. :)
i thought he said they were closing down and didn't have any stock left?
