It's shite, and tubing straight from aluminum suppliers isn't any cheaper than the average second hand ski poles on ebay. Unless you did a large order of course...

I have one spare pole - nothing special but perfectly functional. So if anyone is suffering under the ski pole crunch they can have it.

Managed to pick some up yesterday so Gabes and I are now sorted. Thanks for the input all.

cool yorgo, I can get a fair few in my car, I will bring a hacksaw so we can cut the tips off to fit more in!

oookay. so i got a tip off that morrisons were doing well cheap walking poles. £4 each! i went a grabbed a few this morning on my way past. not bad, nice grip, telescopic (but robust) but they weigh 34g. feels like all the weight is in the handle so they feel light. going to give them a try. just fyi.
