just buy a pair of grips often come free.

no, they're by a company called Stolen, given to me by a friend when he got some new ones. I don't know if the free ones with grips will it all bars as they have different inside diameters. My bar ends go over the outside end of the bar:

Prolite (cheap ones from cyclesport) come with metal ones. Besides the plastic ones easily last the life of the grip, and weigh much less.
One of the reasons I wonder why people fork out so much for Ti bits & thomson seatposts when you can drop so much weight by ditching unecessary baggage.

... most folks'd benefit more from laying off the pies for a few weeks than shelling out for pricey lightweight kit on any type of bike . :)

plastic ones last... what? I take it you've never accidentally dropped your bike or crashed then?
I'm not gonna buy a set of grips that I don't like just so I can have some bar plugs that I'm 99% sure won't fit in my bars.
and do you really think the miniscule additional weight of a set of aluminium bar plugs is going to make any significant difference to a bike's handling, acceleration etc? because if you do I think you've lost the plot...

I dont think itll make a difference, but clearly other people do when you can by seatposts that cost more than a decent frame. I wasnt suggesting you buy grips just for the plugs, but if it was time for new ones its a bonus right?
And even stand alone bar ends are diameter specific.
~~, do you like gsport stuff? Do you still rock 16tooth freewheel?
If you do ive got a great wheelset if your interested.~~

Sabotaged by winstanleys!
Jesus, my wheels have them hubs. They used to sell for like a £100 each and are totally indesctructable.

Yep. And the benefit of that is that stand alone bar ends come in various sizes that I can choose from, to fit either the internal diameter or external diameter of the bars that I'm using.
Whereas it looks like the cyclesport ones only come in one size - undoubtely a size to fit the average internal diameter of a bmx bar, which is a fair bit bigger than that of the thick-walled aluminium MTB bars that I'm using.

I'll give you £300 for it just to save it from being Frankenfixied. Or should that be Fixensteined. Whatever man.
