heres the (really crappy) pics,
pretty satisfied with it (for the mo) though give it a couple of months and the bug will bite again and I will be wanting to make another...
There is some PALS webbing on the bottom for attaching extra straps/lights etc - think on the next one I will include some on the inside and the outside of the flap - just so time consuming bartacking every inch....
Is it some extra flap at the sides that I see? I mean, in the last photo it looks like the flap is wider that the bag... I sometimes thought it might be a good move to keep the whole sides covered up and more waterproof.

Why did nobody else think of that? ;)

Postie bags seem to follow that design, why it is not used on messenger bags I dunno ;)

I remember that freightbaggage backpacks used to come with external flaps like postie bags, but they have now been redesigned. I'd like to ask to you bagmakers, I would have thought that external flaps prevent water from seeping under the flap and protect the external pockets more that internal flaps (which seal the main compartment very well though). Since I had water seeping in through the side stitch where the floating liner is attached to the shell I would like to have some way of getting the flap to cover the area to protect it! Mind you, the seepage only happened because the exterior cordura was totally soaked.

who makes these? colours are rad

They are archie's grobags made by scottnotscot, he isn't taking new orders at the moment but if you are really desperate for one I think there should be some in shop 14 sometime soon, you won't be able to choose the colours though.

brilliant looking design - bet they cost one arm and a leg

• #663
no actually very reasonably priced for how great they are

How much is the one pictured above?

Do you not know? I'd rather not search through 20+ pages of threads and try and match the above photos with a name and price. How can I find out how much it is if I don't which model it is and their website doesn't work?
-

i'm not your bitch, there is so much stuff about archie's grobags on this website that its common knowledge. if you don't agree with me you are wrong. 20+ pages what crap, it takes a quick search for achie's and then click on the number one, that takes you to the first post which has the prices on it, ohh and he's not taking orders so maybe just go to fourteen and get one from there if you want one.

I'm not suggesting you are my "bitch", but if you know which model the bag pictured above is, and could let me know, then I could look at the other thread and see how much it costs.
Simple, no?

• #669
i dug about a bit - they seem to be around 150 bones
-
• #670
well they are not all the same bag, and there is no object to compare them to so its a little irrelevant, but just so you know the top one is a theo, and there is no way by looking at a picture that you can tell if its an archie or a theo.
-
• #671
Clearly, as they're all Archie's. :)
But Seb is right...i'm not taking anymore orders for quite a while now.i found a picture of the monopoly bag and the file was called theo?

Guys this is a pretty long thread and given that I'm at 'work' and all that I shouldn't be paffing so much. BUT - quick Q.... if I get a bag off the net (whatever I decide on) am I going to get stung for import duty or whatever its called in the UK? I'm Aussie so don't understand how it works and well it may make a massive difference as to costs and where I end up buying from. Ta.

Thanks for that - so basically I should try to look at getting one from somewhere in the EU... or tell my folks they owe me loads of xmas presents and get them to buy one in oz and bring it over with 'em. Sound.

Where are you living, because if you buy a bag from from the same country as you are living in, even over the net, taxes are included in the price.
If you're in the UK, then any UK online retailer can't charge extra, as the price is "all-in".
Forget the EU. They only have wine and cheese. No courier bags over there.
overkill is what i'm going for!
