I've used conti, schwalbe, specialised and vittoria tubes previously and I only got punctures if I used shit tyres eg Conti Ultra.

Conti Ultragatorskins, absolute shite, worst puncture resistance of any tyre I have ever used. The best ? No question, Michelin Prorace2's. Awesome ! Never punctured one, have had 6 pairs - they do wear pretty fast though - 6,000km they are square. ProRace3 ? 2 punctures in first week blew the arse out of the sidewall at 120psi.
Ever hear the Billy Connolly joke about the bloke that takes the inflatable woman back to the shop because it got a puncture ? "That went doon on me", man behind the counter "if I'd known that I'd have charged you another fiver !"
Contis are shite Hippy you are right.
Rubino Prio £11 each on probikekit. Good treads they are.

recently bought a bunch of conti tubes off wiggle. 4 punctures in 3 wks. in good weather too...all three punctures looks like a split in the 'seam' of the tube. im buying more patches and switching back to vittoria tubes
continental tubes are a bit shite. i've been through three since i've been here in berlin. same quality control issues, often splits at the seams. i'm not a fan.

For what it's worth I've had a good experience with Conti Ultra-Gatorskins, the cheaper wire-ons not folders (not sue if that makes a difference). Had some punctures, but I don't think any tyres are bullet proof unless you're lucky, and a lot to do with punctures seems to be down to luck. I did inherit another pair with a cut sidewall on some wheels I bought, but I patched the outside with a good quality patch stuck on with Evo-stick and they're still going strong. Had a bactch of Conti tubes bought cheap that were fine too, but switched to Vitts now because they seem to be cheap deal of the day at the mo'. Always worth a repair if you can, not always possible like the nail that went through the outer side once and put about 10 holes on the inner side! Also like the yellow valve caps, but you only need to have two and be careful not to lose them!

Do you mean objects that are not as sharp or fewer sharp objects? Just trying to save you before Platini gets here.
sorry will, i must apologize.
i meant to say fewer sharp objects.
although cycling over blunter objects is probably not a bad idea either! -

I'm not even going to get started on ranting about the image conjured by the usage of "object" and "cycling over". -

"Object" and "sharp objects" does brings a smile to my face.
Although, I guess it does to you as well.
