  • Having build my first wheel recently and used Damon Rindard's spokecalc I thought that this excellent app could use a bit of a face lift. Hence I have re-written it as a web application that runs in your browser.

    Try it out under: http://lenni.info/edd/

I'm keen to hear some feedback on its functionality and user experience. Enjoy!

  • nothing happens when I hit enter.

    I am running firefucks

  • ok, simplified search parameters now I'm getting something.

    Nice!

  • Love the simplicity. It's really effective but might need somewhere where you can type in the measurements (with explanation of how to do measurements) just incase you can't find your hub or rim.

  • Works mobile with opera mini.

  • Works mobile

Oh great! I hadn't thought about that. .

  • Nice, it would be great if you could take submissions of new/different parts? Creating an official Spocalc master version or something...

  • i think a pull-down of different makes available would be better than having to guess names, also i couldnt get Hope Pro 2's....? or mavic 717's....? or any actual results on the calculator? maybe its me. i think if you picked all your right parts then hit a 'go' button, that would be better.

  • Does not work for me :(

  • no H Plus Son...
    sad face :(

  • Good stuff !

Can you put 650c rims in there too ?

  • Groovy.

This will really help the person I get to build my next wheelset ;)

Maybe I'll implement search suggestion a la Google Suggest.

Are you using Internet Explorer? I could not get it running there either. Working on it. IE is an absolute pain in the ass!

I have added all the hubs and rims from spokecalc.xls plus everything from Arup's website. If it wasn't in there, it won't be in my database. I'll add functionality that lets users submit measurements. 650 rims aren't fundamentally different, aren't they? Therefore shouldn't be a problem, right?

    Thanks for the comments guys!

  • Don't design it for IE. People who use IE shouldn't be riding fixed anyway.. it's far too dangerous for their precious little selves.

I couldn't agree more. However, to tell 60 % of the internet to go fuck themselves is a little rude.

why? i think a more appropriate number would be 95%

  • Nice work. My request is for less that 32 spokes as well please.

That'll be really easy. What are common spokes below 32?

I'm more than a little rude. Put "designed for firefox you IE-using cocks" with a link to download Firefox on the default page :)
