I would however prefer to see a bike only classifieds, so I could ignore the misc classifieds. The problem is I like to catch up with the shit on the forum, but I actually don't like reading "shit" on the forum, although some of the "shit" attracts some of the funniest posts so, its tricky innit.

I'm fine with it, it's not that often and usually sold at the same time as with a load of bike stuff. Plus, if I had summat random I wanted to sell, I'd rather sell it to a good home on here and in person than being dicked around on fleabay.

It's a lot less stressful buying and selling stuff on here than it is on eBay as you generally 'know' the people you're buying from/selling to, but people need to think carefully about whether they're taking the piss (i.e. joining up and then trying to flog their entire spare room). If it's in the midst of some bike parts then so much the better.

I generally don't go in for the 'if you don't want to read it, don't open the thread' approach though - I still have to click through those threads whether they're of interest or not, the same as the miscellaneous ones about whether you should cultivate the bonsai tree growing out of your anus.

i see the forum more as a community for people with a shared interest rather than something which is strictly bike focused.

i think that with the overwhelming support for the continuation of selling non bike related stuff. the only thing this thread will accomplish is to get everyone selling their non bike stuff on the forum. be prepared for a massive influx of mostly useless tat.
