  • Ok after my little bit of fun last week ie seat hacksaw kick in the head 24 hour thing, i've been keeping my eyes peeled a lots more.

Anyway there's this basement flat bit down the road from me young guy(s) living there always on diff bikes. Now for ages never crossed my mind they may be shifting them from there but after their latest 'hual' last night ive kinda decided it must be the 'house of thieving feckers'.

Usually i see them on various hybrids etc (thought just young dealers etc) but recently saw one on a fairly new ridgeback flyertype (white like the gensis flyer but with gears) but no seat post, then Monday i saw one on a practically brand new Bianchi C2C Mirage 10 speed and his mate on a very new looking blue cannondale geared. Then last night i saw the one who was on the Bianchi on another new bike, wasn’t close enough ot see hat make but not the bianchi as not that green colour.

The fact that when i rode past on my conversion that their bikes totally out price and they both stopped to clock it, just emphasised the point. Also they are always coming back in workman’s clothes (tracky bottoms , etc painted on them , mud etc) makes me think 1) where the fuck they getting the money for these bikes if they are buying them and 2) looks like they’ll have access to pretty hefty tools being labourers etc.

Now the dilemma, what the fuck to do about them? i can't just bell the old bill say i think some guys are selling stolen bikes out their flat and sure as hell aint gonna go approaching them on my own.

any suggestions guys? or am i being paranoid?

    cheers

  • .

  • I am guessing you cut and pasted that in their. When I do it it dosent like it. Go to edit and deleat all the (FONT)(COLOR) stuff. Mush easier reading.

  • ok wtf just happened to my post O.o

    Why the hell not?

  • ring old bill suggest surveillance operation

  • Why the hell not?

well don't get me wrong it has crossed my mind, but one is evidence i guess, it is a hunch or assumption im working on, and from what i can tell they get bikes whilst at work(ing) and shift them that night hence the diff bike every day thing. - or their flat would be jam packed full of bikes...or maybe it is.

I'll try seeing if anymore about tonight then go from there

  • should knock on there door and ask if they are stealing bikes.

The police can investigate and find what evidence there is (if any). I think it's your civic duty to report such an anti-social crime...
    puts soapbox away

  • Or whether they have any bikes for sale.

  • Stake the house out yourself and when enough evidence is gathered, make a citizen's arrest.
But why not contact the police?

  • Speak to the local copshop and they will very likely do some surveillance. I dunno where you live, but something similar happened to me in Islington a few years back, and the cops did a proper stakeout and made arrests. Reporting suspicious activity is quite normal...and I fucking loathe bike thieves.

Or go in there with a flame-thrower and mash up some shit. Up to you.

  • Give em a call.
Or Dr Who. K9 would fuck them up for sure!

  • leave a bike unlocked directly opposite their house stake it out and see what happens
if they wheel it inside ... call police

  • contact that dude that patrols brick lane market. they might be interested. roxy posted his details somewhere.

  • leave dicki's bike unlocked directly opposite their house stake it out and see what happens
if they wheel it inside ... call police

    Fixed ;)

  • maybe they just love bikes?

  • maybe they just love bikes?

    yeah, other people's bikes...

  • something wrong with your head? Phone the filth, tell them whatever the hell you need to in order to get them to put the house under surveillance. Embellish the story if you have to.

I can't believe these guys are running a stolen bike racket on your street and you don't know what to do!

easy tiger :) im on it, just didn't want to in guns blazing, and also was after the advice as to whether the cops would do anything or just tell me to STFU and get some proof.
