I got through the gate ok it was going round the first corner. I was on for a fast lap! i think a car came round the corner as i turned into it...cant really remember now!

im pretty sure it was closer to 7 minutes! any way woke up this morning and my wrist was rather hurty so i felt i should just hop over to a&e and get myself checked out. Turns out ive broken my wrist and im now in a cast for 6 weeks :( So no london to brighton for me this weekend and no work until im out of the cast!

Sadly, I cannot race anyone - I trashed my bike REALLY badly today, using the good old "daughter's pedal catching in the front wheel right in the middle of Hyde Park" trick. Bike stopped on a sixpence, vaulted clean over the bars, right on top of her, couldn't drop my shoulder and roll, otherwise I'd've put my full weight right into the middle of her back - had to try landing on my hands and catching my full weight. Luckily, no proper injuries to anyone, a couple of tiny grazes - minor miracle really.

Front half of my bike is pretty much written off though. So much for the Charge Butt-Plug being "bomb proof". It isn't "heavy steel child's mountain bike proof" though...

Ah mate that sucks! Glad your daughters alright though! I bet your son on his BMX was about 1/2mile infront shouting "come-on i want to race!"

Was going to make my first trip down, am a newbie, but heard about this event from the going going bike guys this coming tues - should be quite cool is @ look mum no hands LDN:

Excellent buddy! I may pop round but don't wanna get "nausia"! I am going to get on the spoke cards asap, hopefully by next Tuesday but don't quote me on that!
