Back when people still went to Souths, Ed asked permission(!) to come along one night, turned up with 3 (hearing) friends, sat down with them in the opposite corner of the pub to the regulars and eventually left without saying anything to us all evening. Should we have assumed this was because of Ed's ears? We put it down to what goes on between them. I think that's a better default position to take and even where it is the wrong assumption, it at least acknowledges his personality rather than one physical attribute.

I think I was there that night... He got barred cause he threw up a stink because no one was serving him. People came people went but he wasn't served. He came out fuming cause he was permanently denied for his strop.
