  • My two pence- they cannot keep any of their beers, most especially the real ales.

Also it's expensive, it takes ages to get served and they cannot pour Guiness.

Shall we consider another venue close by and give it a trial?

+1 to that. Variable beer quality would be a mild annoyance if it were efficient and cheap (the Wetherspoons model) but three proper beers all off and £3.50 for a pint of fizzy pop after a long wait really ain't all that.

The Mudlark gets three pints on the usually reliable Fancyapint.com and appears to have at least three bike stands outside. Anyone fancy a recce next week?

  • i'm up for recce any day after lunch ;) but next week my friend, we will head norf in numbaz

    ...eh' innit?!

Great beer, ok bike parking. Nice pub if you can deal with the miserable as fuck staff, and they really are a bunch of miserable bastards, however I have never had a shit beer in there on the 2-3 occasions i've been there. You could probably chain to the railings as well I guess....

    Sounds like a plan dude!

  • I combust if I cross the thames, so I shall leave you chaps to enjoy Norf Lahndan.

I'm up for recce'ing the mudlark next week, and a few other places maybe?

You definitely didnt combust when you went to Murtle's west drinks for the pressie giving :P

  • That wasn't me.

  • .....pretty sure I spoke to you, and about your other half, saying I had met you at Kings Arms before...

Maybe a recce of potential new pubs might be more in order come to think of it?

  • @reen i know that pub its just around the corner from the tuesday haunt, maybe 400 metres never dran in there though. if memory serves correct the road outide it is long and quite enough for sprints if you were so inclined.

  • Reen, am I going mad or did your pre-edit post link to Westminster Abbey?

and people pay you for advice?

  • and people pay you for advice?

They pay me for my time. Anything else that happens is between consenting adults.

  • I'm voting for the Roebuck also- cycled past it a million times and always wanted to stop.

  • 3 for Roebuck. Thats the one I was thinking of.

  • why not map out a little tour of all of the possibles and try them out one week at a time.

    sorry if i missed something.

Good idea ^ shall we do this next week?

  • pub crawl!

  • pub crawl!

no more of a tour de pub - one stage each week

  • What would the 4 jerseys represent?

  • I'm up for this. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

  • @ charcol

red jersey = consistently the last person to leave

polka dot jersey = person who bails first from feeling ill or chucking a whitey or whater the term was

green jersey = person who can down a pint of guinness the fastest

yellow jersey = person who had been to most of the stages and got to each of them first or earliest

white jersey = no white jersey as its racist

this is just an idea,, feel free to edit the above.

    sorry if i missed something.
