Well, I made it along briefly last night. And I met... Errrr... Emmy, Chic and a bee-lover with a beard who weighs nearly 20stone who kindly lent me a cheap beer card but I have completely forgotten his name. Stopping for a break and a quick drink was much needed - didn't realise how much Cambridge cycling has slowed me down.

Oh, and I DIDN'T see Iain because he was too busy trying out strap-ons with four men in a canoe. Sounds like a standard weekday night though really.

Like the new pub too. It's nicer than it used to be a few years ago.

Tom k&e usually has a beard and said he would drop by, although I wouldn't have weighed him in at 20 stone.

Was too knackered to make it along, yesterday. Also, trying to restrict myself to one compass beers per week.

Ah, k&e sounds about right - he had a badge sewn onto his top with that on it - thought it was a brand that I wasn't cool enough to know about. And yes, I didn't rate him that sizeable either, but that's what he said.

So, if I can wangle more reasons to go back to London, I'll try to drop by again. I think all that hurryhurryhurry London cycling is good for me, so I should get a bit more of it. Cambridge makes you sloooooooowwwwwwww . . .

I loled. No brand energy drinks, no thank you. Proper nice ale and awesome sossy rolls yes please. And probably one of the coolest (i.e. not hip just chilled) clienteles of any pub I know.

I remember you said you'd shifted a whole bunch of weight, but no, I was referring to the giant yellow bee-magnet to your right who said he currently weighs just under 20 stone. Which was both surprising and also crushing to my hopes of claiming the Heaviest Forum Rider title.

I have briefly considered trying for Slowest Forum Rider as my bike slowly seizes up, groaning with every pedal stroke and begging for some oil and a proper overhaul, but as I do actually ride my bike I can't possibly beat Teenslain for (lack of) speed around town.

I really am that heavy, obviously I carry it better than I thought.
