Tom I have a rat bike I want to dispose of, but it fits me so is probably too small for you.
-
• #13282
I've already got a frame, pedals, cranks, wheels etc. Trying to get forks bars and stem on it for less than £100, no point getting another bike...
-

^^^^ But the ones you have are for an integrated headset and headtube. Mine is a steel frame with a non integrated head tube
-
• #13284
hang on, are the ones I've dibsed non-integrated?
-
• #13285
have you tried ebay? There were several people selling new carbon forks for around £60 BIN, might be some for non integrated headsets
-
• #13286
^^ They look non integrated to me!

That's not a rat bike, my rat bike cost £50 then I spent another £20 on new tyres. I am unconvinced by the cost benefit analysis findings of fitting new brake blocks for another £14, although it would mean it could actually stop properly.
Xander's bike isn't going to be a rat bike if it has carbon forks....

I hear that the man Fade is leaving town after all and that his leaving drinks are on Tuesday, at SE's?
Reckon I'll have to swing by and wish him well, innit.

Xandrino, you should replace the Vero cranks on your track weapon with some Omniums, and put the veros on your rat bike, rather than buying new 75s for it. IMHO of course.

Tom, I have your wheels still. Can deliver sometime soon, but I've a non-cycling friend visiting for the weekend. Sunday maybe?
-
• #13295
^^^but xander doesn't ride his track bike, so clearly it should have the least shiny components of the pile... ;)
^sunday should work, happy to swing by in the car. -

The rumors are true, due to lack of funds I'll be heading back to Shropshire after next weekend, so Tuesday will be my last south east's for a while. Hopefully it'll only be short term though - if I get my act together I should be back and have a job around September time

^^Blergh, square taper... blergh. He could buy the planet x omnium-a-likes for about the same price as 75s, or if he really insisted he could buy the condor-branded 75s for less than 100, IIRC.
^Fade, the commute will be longer but I don't see why you can't keep coming to the roebuck. Just leave early on monday and bring a sleeping bag.

just spent ages getting through all the posts I missed (cos I was to hung over to actually work), the two posts below are epic.
You laugh... I got cupboarded on friday when my mate opened the cupboard on me when i was looking for a sleeping bag in the lower drawer and he looked in the cupboard.
My eye is fucking sore...
Iain, you are my hero.
Turns out I'm washing my hair that Friday. I demand a sudden and immediate rearrangement to the Saturday evening.
Tried to rep you but apparently you're over-repped in my books...
