According to the misguided person selling one on ebay at the moment, the white ones are.....
the LIMITED Addition in WHITE
Not even a limited 'edition', but some kind of limited 'addition' to the existing range perhaps??

If anyone has a green one and wants to swop the white forks for a pair of used black ones, I'll happily oblige, (i'll even throw in the black stem too)

I love mine.
I love mine too, but the headset is fucked and somehow I've bent one of the dropouts. still love it though.

Happy with mine so far, although there is a buzz coming from the front brake lever that I can't seem to track down....

Id have a look at the front brake lever thats usually the source of buzzing from the front brake lever.

EUREKA!!!
I just had a look - and I think you may be right...
But, I can find what exactly in the lever, mechanism or housing is buzzing and hence can't find any way to stop it buzzing.

Hi, I'm stuck in nursery so thought this the best place to post...
Just bought an 09 flyer in green. Love it so far, but want to swap the stem/bars to something like what I had on my Charge Freestyler (which was flogged last week btw). A short-as stem and mini-risers that is. Anyone got any suggestions?

i would start by buying a short-ass stem an some mini-risers.
and i would follow that up by putting them on your bike. -
• #85
Yeah, that had crossed my mind. But then I thought I'd try and get some expert opinion...you know...people at the grass-roots level who know what they're on about.
-
• #86
know what they're on about?
thats me out then. -
• #87
...and just when we were getting to know eachother!
-
• #88
buy a set of short bars that you like
buy a stem that has the right clamp size
fit them -
• #89
wow...is this some sort of initiation or test?
Oh, I need to replace the levers too...any suggestions? Was thinking Dirty Harrys, but I guess I should just buy them, fit them, and see. And then I can just take them back to the shop if I don't like them, right?

are we supposed to tell you what you will and won't like?
-
• #91
...or perhaps someone with a similar bike will tell me their ideas...what works well, and what to avoid maybe. but thanks anyway for helping me get my 5 posts in so quickly!

i've been DoingUp my flyer slowly.. got some Bullhorns on & a short-ass on one stem.. crosstop brake levers.. And a new charge spoon seat (the seat is huge upgrade) that stock flyer seat isn't very good.
so far all that for £50.. next will be a new set of wheels.. doing my homework on them.
thats my setup -

Nice...hadn't thought about the seat. My old Freestyler was built for max comfort in the saddle department, so I might have to put that on the shopping list too.
I'm 6' so have the 58 frame - any idea on a suitable stem length? I've tried to recall what my freestyler had on it, as I'd like something similar, but since the 09 models have come out they have put a longer stem on them, and updated the spec website. I was thinking 70-80mm at the longest. As voodoodave mentioned (I think) I find the reach waaaay too long with the stock setup.

I have a 50mm stem on mine (the 54, but I'm only 5'10"), a little bit twitchy at that length to be honest when you are on the tops but great further forward on the bullhorns. Thinking about going back to a longer stem and bars with less reach.
-
• #95
that sounds about right then. reckon I should go maybe 70mm with rise-bars. Can then tweak a little bit longer/shorter if necessary by changing the sweep of the bar.
I like the look of the cross-top levers - hadn't come across them before. A little more $$ than the dirty harry but they look nice and simple. I kinda like the Eclat Swift levers too.

about wheels.. think i'm gonna go all Black with Goldtec hubs on Velocity Deep v's..
Also thinking about Ambrosio Evolutions, low profile rims as their much lighter & maybe cheaper (from brixton) any ideas? cheers. -

basically
get risers you find comfortable
as no 2 people are the same
i suggest easton risers
then go for a stem thats the right size for you
which you should know -

which you should knowIt's a new frame size/geometry for me compared to my last bike, so apologies for not knowing what stem I should use for my height...and I'm almost certain that you could find 2 people who like the same setup, you're just being cynical! :)
So, I've gone with a Kore 80mm stem, and am still looking for a white 50mm riser - thinking of the Spank Lounge Bar. I picked up a set of Gold Finger levers too.
To kevinsays - I stole your idea and got a spoon too. Thank you, from the heart of my bottom.

Anyone kept their standard pedals? I've done about 50 miles on my new flyer, and I can hear a clanking sound on each turn of the crank under heavy load and feel the pedals moving a bit under my feet.... I'm not particularly heavy (or strong) either..?
Might replace them...
-

I'm well-keen to get rid of my pedals too - only had the bike a few days and already they seem a bit flaky. But then I am very heavy, and very strong! ;)
Picked up a Spank Lounge riser bar from ukbikestore and also grabbed a 50mm Spank stem too. Will see which length I like best and offer the other one up for sale.
Anyone want the old Genesis stem / bars / levers / saddle? Make me an offer for all, or individually. Will post them in a new thread as soon as I'm free of my nursery training wheels.
I love my 08 in white, originally hated the green 09 version, Buuuuut having seen it in the flesh now the green is actually a lot nicer than it looks in most pictures on the interweb. still prefer mine though!
