Seconding the confused bit. Is it worth turning up to Southwark at 1 if we want to come watch? or just better to head to NE on the map?
this thread is prodominantly for league games... its suggesting that if you want to come watch, youre welcome to roll by... and i was also suggesting that if you come watch you could also throw in your mallet after our games are over.
And...... i was suggesting if there is no one there to play a throw in game we would go to NE court... as there will be people playing there during the day.
hope that clears up some on the cross messages.

What happens in the situation where the two teams cannot arrange a suitable time before the deadline?

if you dont play your game...
In case one team don’t show up, the other team get the 3 points, and the absent team gets -1
the point is, the teams that have been drawn have to sort it out.IMO i think the deadline/cutoff point at the very latest should be wednesday (as the loose set days are thurs/sat)... but if you leave it this late the draw for the next fortnight would have been done... and be tight to arrange next game day.

negative points.
-
• #32
No no no!, Not if you miss the arranged game, but if you can't decide on a time that suits both teams before the deadline. I have tried very hard to arrange a game for an evening this week or for Saturday morning. But at the last moment, we are challenged to a game that we are unable to do.
Sick Buckets, anyway you can do Saturday morning or lunchtime?
-

If both teams fail to show up or arrange a time it surely must be negative points to both teams?
-
• #34
id agree ^^^
I also think that not everyone checks this thread a lot and therefore if i wanted to arrange a game quickly i would PM/txt them. as i know, i get notified via email when i get a pm.

no throw ins on saturday, were gonna play RMY after NS, for some zurich practise, theirs not ours.
-
• #36
Same court? I'd be down for NS playing them too.
-
• #37
So we are already on negative points without a game?!
Despite me trying to arrange a game all week, if I can't do Saturday night, we get negative points!
Ridiculous.

Valid. Where's mike's input on this?

It's up to the home team.
As in it's your final word, you and your teammates decide a day and show up, if the other team can't make it, tough. End of.
A no show = forfeit, either team.If you and your teammates can't decide on a day amongst yourselves then you deserve the neg points!
-
• #40
Sensible. It's down to the sickbuckets to decide then.
Hops, how many of you can't make it? If it's only one you could have a sub... -

So for all my home games I am going to ignore all calls/ emails/ PM's/ messages from friends of the away team and wait until the final moment, than challenge the away team to a game in the middle of the night in South London.
That's one way of getting points I suppose!
-
• #42
If the home team neglects to decide then I imagine it's only fair for them to get neg point only, not the visiting team...

You're home team privelidges will be revoked for un-gentlemanly conduct. i.e. don't be a dick

court is lit.. So it's not gonna be dark, I have been working and haven't read this thread

I think we need a new rule here - it seems a bit late to be organising a fixture 48 hours before the deadline for completion. These fixtures were announced a fair while ago.
I think that we could extend the deadline for the Buckets/Conos, if Conos really can't make tomorrow night.

A note to SD/MT - if we can't get on the Shakespeare Walk court, we will play NE, at 1030 so that we don't interfere with normal Saturday afternoon pick-up.
Never played Shakespeare Walk so not sure what to expect.

Here's to a day of polo - league and pick-up.

Sitting Ducks vs Moving Targets - played at Boleyn Road court
5-2 3-5 5-4
Sitting Ducks win.
My compliments to the Moving Targets on a good match, fair play and good spirit. My congratulations to my team-mates on the win. My thanks to Crish Carsh for reffing.
The Shakespear Walk court doesn't work. Surface is too loose for proper polo play.
The Boleyn Road court, on the other hand, is the best playing court I have played so far. True surface, right dimensions, high brick wall all the way around - and no kids at 11am!

...yea, that's not what they said...
In the dark? Can't you do any earlier. I think we can only do the morning.
