late at night when there is less traffic you should be well aware of motors coming close to you, especially mopeds. EdScoble I seriously hope you have a rear view mirror!

Riding a bike is secondarily about getting from a to b and primarily about protecting yourself so ride defencively.

If anyone catches these guys, myself included, you should seriously fuck them up, slash their tyres, mug them, take their phones and send homosexual texts from it to all their mates, rip out their piercings, take their shoes, etc.

If this is your outlook, I'd suggest you stay at home under the blankets. It's obviously far too dangerous out there for itty bitty bicycles.

Yeah Hippy, I've been cycling since 1992. I'm fairly sure I'm aware of the dangers.

My outlook is to be safe and not die... Crazy I know. Unfortunately there are so many fashionistas that are primarily concerned with being cool and throwing caution to the wind without being good cyclists. I'm a very fast rider, I break lights ALL the time and I undertake trucks. That said, I know how to do it "safely".

Attitude may make you feel like steel, but even if you were, the 13 tonne truck will still crush you, and your not, your just a bag of blood waiting to burst.

That actually happened a year or two ago. Sliced the neck of a woman and killed her. Nice.

Worst I've had (apart from accidental spit headed my way from another cyclist) is a stone chucked at me by some kid that hit my knee and bounced into my jaw. It fucking hurt. But what could I do? I wasn't going to punch the ten year-olds that did it. Although if I knew I'd get away with it...I'd fucking chop their noses off.

Some little cocks pulled my bike backward while i was standing with it between my legs while on the phone, i could barely breath for about 3 minutes so i couldn't go after them. Little fucks...
